Watch it real time from the second camera Perry’s view. He had time to flinch or lean or move he chose his path if it went through JT that was just a free bonus
Flinching and moving out of the path of a player immediately in front of you are oceans apart.

I'd love to be enlightened

Heres Perry “accidentally” kneeing Stalock in the head, look familiar?:

Here’s another Perry kneeing “accident” for you:

here’s Perry “accidentally” elbowing someone in the face:

That took me 5 mins of googling and doesn’t even include his time in Anaheim, give me another 10 and I’ll get you 6 more videos.

Perry is a dirty POS player
But there was nothing he could have don’t there
Him trying to avoid hitting Tavares probably made it worse though

Yeah, could've been a case of trying to minimize the damage and instead amplified it. Hope he's ok. I may be an Isles fan that doesn't like how he left (and still put a lot of blame on Snow and Ledecky for letting it get that far) but you don't want to see anyone take a hit like that. I would think the Leafs will have Toronto's best doctors and specialists spend a lot of time helping him out.

Jeez that shot was brutal, best to JT on a fast recovery, that was sickening.

Scary, scary stuff. Hope JT makes a full recovery without having any last damage for his career, and above all else, his overall health.

Not a Perry fan, but that was an accident. Just a unfortunate situation all around

Worst response I think I have ever seen.

If the Leafs bench thought that was intentional then a staged fight wouldn’t be enough.
If they didn’t think it was intentional then why figh?

Of course it was an accident. I’m 99.9% sure it was an accident, just like Cooke on Karlsson

I preface this by saying that Perry is a dirty POS. That said while I think that he may have been able to avoid this situation by jumping over JT, it did happen extremely quickly so it may not have been on purpose, but the player's history leaves at least a sliver of doubt in my mind. Best of wishes to Tavares on a full and hopefully speedy recovery. Even as an opposing fan it was tough to see Matthews and co. so emotional as they looked on helplessly while their Captain was in great distress.

You can keep crying, won't change the outcome
