Wait...the word is that Myers will escape suspension?

Head principle point of contact, blindside, Myers repeat offender (I believe)???

There's no way he doesn't get suspended...

Right???

Last suspension was in 2014.

I believe he'll get suspended at least 1 game

Not sure why a 6'7 guy needs to have his follow-thru going up while giving a hit. Hitting a guy shoulder to shoulder can hurt the guy who give the hit sometimes and I think Myers was trying to avoid that. Should be suspended, 3 games minimum. Bitch move.

They have to put Mete first in the line up and after, can recall player from their squad.
They do not have to put Mete in the lineup. They can recall a player from the taxi squad anytime they want, subject to cap constraints. I suspect that by now they are cap compliant and are just banking extra space by having Perry and Frolik on the taxi squad. And they will probably put Armia on the IR list so they will actually accrue more cap savings by having Armia off the cap and Perry on.

Different year, same bullshit.

I don't understand how you can injure a player on a dirty hit and not get suspended.

The last few years, there were inconsistencies, but you could see a general trend that they were putting more onus on the hitter rather than looking for excuses to get them off the hook.

Now we see this ruling, and I feel like we have gone back a full decade.

It was a clean hit. Unfortunate, but clean.

I still hope someone demolishes Myers cleanly next game.. but there was nothing disgusting by the hit. And if Romanov laid into someone the same way, I'd be defending it too.

Unfortunate clean hit from dead angle to head that caused a concussion. I can imagine Vancouver would burn if the victim would have been Suzuki or KK.

If the league won't handle it, the team has to; Myers needs to get run hard on dump-ins to his corner on Saturday. We spend half the game in the box anyways, might as well be for boarding/charging penalties that have a purpose.

By definition, a hit where the principal point of contact is the head is not clean.

Which it was deemed it wasn't. The chest was deemed the principal point of contact. And I agree.

Still sucks for Armia and I hope he's back, healthy, quickly.

Yes they have . 100% sure. That's what Maguire and Dubé have said yesterday after the game. Mete must be the first filler.

No. It wasn't. And that is why they gave a 5 for attempt to injure and a game misconduct.
Better never see you chirping a penalty call ever in history since they are all 100% accurate, according to you.

DOPS deemed it a clean hit. Refs said it was a hit to the head after reviewing it (a penalty wasn't even called initially). DOPS determined that was not the case.

I don't get this notion that Perry is going to come into the lineup and take care of myers.

That's really not him. He's a shit disturber, and if anything he will pick a different battle or battles based on whoever is around him. He isn't going to go in with the specific intention to mess around with myers.

Did official word come out that dops deemed it a clean hit? I think that sets a terrible precedent that puts the league back to where we were 10 years ago. At the very least, they should say that the penalty on the ice was enough.

They are in the business of SUPPLEMENTAL discipline, after all.

Sounds like third world rules. Completely irrelevant if you come from dead angle and don't give the other player chance to protect himself and the outcome is a concussion. Armia's body position and angle was perfectly natural in that situation.

How can you make both of these arguments back to back? Is appeal to authority only correct when you do it?
