You're 100% wrong, you must have misheard what they said. There are no rules that state which of the available players draws into a lineup when injuries occur. It just has to be someone on the 23-man active roster. Since the Habs only currently have 21 players on the active roster, Mete would draw in. But if they recall Perry then he would be available and he could and almost certainly would play instead of Mete. The only thing preventing them from recalling Perry, Frolik, or anyone else on the taxi squad would be if there wasn't yet enough cap space.

If Perry or another forward is recalled tomorrow, they will play and Mete will continue to sit.

Sorry Sir, I did not misheard. It was crystal clear that they have to put Mete first in the lineup BEFORE calling up a guy on the squad. That's what THEY said. I was just repeating it. Good if Mete sits and Frolik and Perry are up

Armia's bitch collection increased by one. Night before he made Hughes his bitch.

I've noticed Hughes falls a lot on his own, especially when he's trying to pivot. He seems to toe pick it. This is a perfect example of it.

He did it a few times last game too. Habs dump the puck in to change. Hughes is all alone tries to move from skating backwards to forwards to go get the puck and trips himself.

Players should definitely challenge this kid one on one either inside to outside or vice versa. He might just fall.

If both Armia and Byron are injured, Montreal does not have enough Cap room to go to a 23-man roster from 21. Unless they want to risk losing Mete to waivers, he will need to be one of the players dressed for the game as a replacement The other can be either Frolik or Perry but, not Poehling because his Cap hit is 925K and there isn't enough room for him yet.

Expect one of Frolik or Perry to replace Armia and Mete to play on the 4th line.
Yeah if Byron can't play then Mete might come in for him. Another possibility is that they send Romanov to the taxi squad and Mete plays D and they call up two forwards. Or if Armia's concussion is really bad they send him to LTIR and free up his cap space and call up two forwards without sending Romanov to the taxi squad.

What's new with this crappy League ?

Armia might be gone for weeks, even months..... Myers will play Saturday night.

I hope Molson and Bergevin are raising hell about this one.

The league doesn't care about Montreal. We're only good to keep shitty US markets alive who can't even sell out with $20 tickets with free hot dogs and free parking.

Dept of Player Safety is really the Dept to Protect Hitting.

They don't want to suspend anyone for hitting, once in a while there is a suspension when something gets a lot of air play in the media but erring on the side of caution means no suspension or the two game slap on the wrist.

Someday the mentality may change when enough medical evidence on head injuries is available, although seems like it already is.

The real motivation seems to be the fear of discouraging hitting in the game and not safety.

I hope the next game is full of fights, cheap shots and total chaos, all because the NHL wouldn't see the value of doing the right thing and sitting him out the last game of a tripple header. This is the team you built Marc, lets see them get ugly and get a little pride behind the CH.

Again, if you understand that refs are fallible, why do you trust DoPS so much? Because they have clearly never made a wrong call?
Because they aren't under the heat of the moment and trying to maintain order in a game.

But regardless of my thoughts, I'm just saying if someone is using that the refs called it a penalty so I'm automatically wrong - they've decided the refs are always right and they should no longer complain about them. That's all.

+1

As someone who loves physical hockey, I thought I finally understood the rules. Blindside, vulnerable position, targeting the head... I don't get it. Plus the context of a blowout game against the best player that night.

Was it that hard to give even 1 game? You basically "suspended" Ovechkin for hanging out in a hotel room..

I am fully confident the new Habs will take care of this appropriately. Not dirty, just physical and finishing every hit all night. Run the score up. f*** it.

Refs: Calling literally EVERYTHING
Myers obvious headshot to Armia resulting in concussion: 0 game suspension

Well, the Department Of Pure Sh-t is again consistent in it's inconsistency. It would be so encouraging if the DOPS appointed people who actually cared about player safety or just people who had at least 17 functioning brain cells. I'm curious how long the suspension would have been if the hit had been on Tavares or Marner. Tonight's game will be a referendum on the "identity" of the Habs.

Why because they got one call out of 5 right.

Suspensions are based mostly on the players involved and USUALLY injuries. If McDavid cripples someone guaranteed no suspension. If it s a cheap shot on McDavid and he misses a shift suspension 10-15 games (unless of course the infraction was committed by another star player).

If that hit was on McJesus the giraffe would have a 4 game suspension, and this is a fact. Two sets of rules in this league.
