Better never see you chirping a penalty call ever in history since they are all 100% accurate, according to you.

DOPS deemed it a clean hit. Refs said it was a hit to the head after reviewing it (a penalty wasn't even called initially). DOPS determined that was not the case.

Has the DOPS rescinded the match penalty the refs gave to Myers?

How can you make both of these arguments back to back? Is appeal to authority only correct when you do it?
Well he's saying the refs called it a penalty so it was a dirty hit. Even though DOPS deemed it a hit to the chest. So?

Did official word come out that dops deemed it a clean hit? I think that sets a terrible precedent that puts the league back to where we were 10 years ago. At the very least, they should say that the penalty on the ice was enough.

They are in the business of SUPPLEMENTAL discipline, after all.
"Myers will not be subject to discipline for his hit on Joel Armia. Although Armia's head was impacted and suffered a concussion, the direct point of contact was determined to be the chest. Additionally, Armia's injury is not considered in this case as the head was not the main point of contact."

The entire league is a joke. So as long as I make initial contact with your chest I can spear your eye out and that is legal.

A clear message needs to be sent from shift 1 Saturday. Can't let a cheap shot like that go without an answer.

Hopefully it's a controlled agression.

Maybe the lack of supplemental discipline fires up the guys, and I expect price to be chomping at the bit to redeem himself too, as he often does after a rough game.

This could all bode well for a very motivated habs team on Saturday.

And you're saying DoPS called it a hit to the chest. Even though the refs reviewed it and called it high hit that resulted in 5+ a game. So?

Okay, so you don't have to give a player chance to protect himself and you can hit from blind side without worry of suspension, if the hit is mostly "clean". The outcome and where the player hits his head after the contact doesn't matter. Also, if the receiver doesn't have the puck, he's a less advisable blind side hit target, but it's no biggie. This is where we have come to.

Good to know every ref call is right. Should make for a lot cleaner GDTs!

If it wasn't Montreal involved I would have liked to see a war with 5 or 6 guys going to the hospital so that Bettman will finally see that Parros a complete imbecile.

Yes they have . 100% sure. That's what Maguire and Dubé have said yesterday after the game. Mete must be the first filler.
You're 100% wrong, you must have misheard what they said. There are no rules that state which of the available players draws into a lineup when injuries occur. It just has to be someone on the 23-man active roster. Since the Habs only currently have 21 players on the active roster, Mete would draw in. But if they recall Perry then he would be available and he could and almost certainly would play instead of Mete. The only thing preventing them from recalling Perry, Frolik, or anyone else on the taxi squad would be if there wasn't yet enough cap space.

If Perry or another forward is recalled tomorrow, they will play and Mete will continue to sit.

Guess who got embarrassed by Armia on the last Habs goal before the hit.

If both Armia and Byron are injured, Montreal does not have enough Cap room to go to a 23-man roster from 21. Unless they want to risk losing Mete to waivers, he will need to be one of the players dressed for the game as a replacement The other can be either Frolik or Perry but, not Poehling because his Cap hit is 925K and there isn't enough room for him yet.

Expect one of Frolik or Perry to replace Armia and Mete to play on the 4th line.

Context matters a lot here, this is a game where Vancouver trails by 3 with 3 minutes remaining, where Myers took 3 dumb penalties already and where Armia had humiliated them

I'd argue there's an attempt to injure here by targeting a specific player with overwhelming circumstances. The DOPS should at the very least give him one game so he's not there next game against the Habs. Violence will escalate if they don't

OMFG. Total BS.

Is this real life?

Oh boy... welp.

Time to take it out on the Canucks on Saturday.
