I wouldn't mention it except that Connor very often fails to get a good zone exit. It's an area that he needs to improve, especially playing with Scheifele who tends to play a bit loose in the D zone.

No doubt KC's strong suit is not in his own end - that one looked bad though but it's a play they have likely worked on - we are not sending it up the boards nearly as much as we used to.

I wonder how many people will give Maurice due credit for that? They sure were ripping him apart when he was struggling and learning

Agreed, some just have an axe to grind & plus there is some crediance to some points. To your point, the Jets, PMO and Laine all deserve credit for his development & growth in maturity.

Chippy game but strong third and some quick, decisive counterattacks bolstered by goaltending that was rich and flavourful without being flaky — and 55/29 were flying.

KC is much stronger on the forecheck this year but still prone to coasting and/or puckwatching on the way back. JMo still playing through something IMO and no other D on the team strong enough to carry a passenger, which means 3/4 passengers on any given night.

Still, full marks for pluck and sticking to their game plan, and some unreal passing by The Lainer. He made Sasha B look pretty ordinary tonight.

Everyone promoting MacKinnon for Hart. McDavid says "are you sure about that"?

Well they like to give the Hart to the biggest sled-puller, if Draisaitl finishes ahead of him in points (which he very well could) there's no way they give him the Hart.

Great road win , terrible refs , there was probably more Jets fans than Panther fans in the arena so who were the refs trying to please . :shakeheadLaine with 2 beauty passes and a solid game . Nice game from Scheif and the best game from Wheeler in a while , would be nice if he scored once in a while though . ;)

He's rounding into form, with the added dimensions as a passer and physical presence.

I was happy with this Team effort. Scheifele had some edge. Connor was buzzing. I was particularly impressed with Wheeler tonight, he was battling. I like the change he has made, from being a passive player, to a guy who gets to the net, works in the areas his linemates need him to get to. That's what a veteran does. Nice to see Ehlers score, he looked gunshy early. Copp and Lowry are leading this year.

The defense to me is impressive as well. It's simple now, you don't have the Big guy roaming down the boards. Very few players take chances, and they limit odd man rushes, force the play to come to them.

I thought Poolman had a pretty good game, he got beat on the 3rd goal where he probably should have changed, but he was solid in the one on one battles.

No complaints about Kulikov-Pionk, smart game.

And Beaulieu-Sbisa were good. Sbisa very good positionally. Beaulieu gets the puck to the net, which I like, was fighting the choppy ice a bit, but looked comfortable.

Chemistry is a game to game improvement, and the defense looked tighter tonight, well coached, against a Florida team that has a pretty strong top 4 conversely.

4th line penalty gave up the first goal against, but they were ok. Still not worthy of significant minutes.

We just beat a talented team on the road, and Maurice you could say outcoached his rival Joel Quenneville again.

I didn't see the game so I will just take your word for it. I particularly like what you said about Wheeler. He may be adapting to a very different role and/or style as his talent fades. That's what veterans have to do to stay relevant.

Sloppy, choppy game, I thought. Jets were the better team, and Brossoit was the better goalie (by the end), but hardly a work of art. Still, nice to see them work for it.
