Poolman stayed in college too long after starting college late, guy is finally playing hi s first full NHL season and will be what 28? in the off season.

Samberg talk is premature but you never know as we saw with Trouba, I would also assume Samberg will be more polished than Trouba coming to the Jets!

Both Niku and Poolman were slated for greatness here by some but as we’ve seen they both have THEIR limitations!

How awesome would it be if he came in and started doing Cale Makar things right out the gate!

Predators about to lose. Wild on our butt! This is good right?

Considering games in hand we are not really in a PO spot yet but we have a really close fight on our hands with 6 teams fighting for the 2 WC spots. 1 of the 6 will get 3rd in the Pacific but that is not settled yet so all 6 are still in the WC fight. This could go right to the last game of the season. Exciting stuff. Not a time to tank.

I liked Eakin's game centering the 2nd -

He doesn't appear to be very interested in scoring goals and really doesn't have to with these two wingers.

He spends most of his time chasing down puck carriers and cutting off passing routes. Has a really sneaky stick that he uses really well when defending and stripping pucks - and he uses those short little outlet passes to get things moving in the other direction.
There's nothing flashy about him and unless you're paying attention, you can miss what he's doing out there -

The 2nd line was dangerous tonight and he had a lot to do with it - in a sneaky way.
Anyone else seeing this?

I agree with this. We have had a lot of players/lines LOOK good without results. We really need results. I hope they come.

Calgary - they either stay in 3rd with a win, or they combine with Vancouver's results for WC1
Vancouver - a win either keeps them in WC1, or they take 3rd pacific if Calgary loses
Arizona - a win ties them for WC2 with the same games played, but would have 1 less win than the Jets

Loved Roslovic and Harkins's hustle all game every shift , really gotta have energy guys like that . Only 2 pages so far on the PGT after a win that puts us back in a playoff position , must not be much to complain about .

Roslo Hark and Frenchie sounds like a handful of a line to me.

Ended up with some great last minute tickets in Sec 112 just below the netting, so was an unobstructed view at a price that was too good to be true!

A few observations from my perspective:

- "2nd" line looked so good on a number of shifts...too bad none of the 3 could handle the puck worth a darn last night.

- Eakin will be fine. Having a chance to isolate on him a number of times, he is a real smart hockey player almost always on the right side of the puck. PoMo will have a lot of trust in him going forward. He's not as fast as he used to be though. (Did he not win or come close to winning the fastest skater time vs the Moose guys in their skills competition as a Bantam player?) I would be happy to have him in the fold at the right price.

- Sign Demelo please

- 26 and 55...I just shake my head sometimes. I know PoMo was raving about 55's D zone play last night, likely because there was no raving about his play in the O zone! The two of them were a black hole in the O zone. (Aside from Wheel's sweet feed to KFC)

- Man is Harkins a great fore checker. I don't know how many times he forced plays down low where it looked like there were none. I will live with a few of his mistakes. Kind of reminds me of the way Matchoo used to play when he first got here. A bigger/stronger version mind you. That line was relentless on some of the shifts, good game for them.

- The more I watch Pionk play... I honestly think we win the trade for Trouba straight up, never mind adding in Heinola. He has such a feel for the game...he has a ton more hockey sense than Jacob.

- Appleton is a keeper.

- I do not see what Bourque brings to the team...has to be good in the room I guess.

The only thing Trouba maybe has over Pionk is size/physicality. And Pionk is so smart with positioning that it's pretty much a wash.

Pionks for Trouba straight up would have been a fair trade in hindsight now, the bonus and what makes the Jets the winners in the trade is obviously Heinola!

really don’t know what Rangers fans were yammering on about with Poink, guy would be welcome on any team in the NHL!

They are doing it to Brady Skjei now that he's been traded. Trash player, worst D on the team, yadda, yadda, yadda.

If you look at the standings this win is kinda like putting lipstick on a pig.
All teams chasing the wc spot have games in hand on the Jets.
Nice to see them win but it may be too little too late and their fate is really in the hands of other teams.

Jets have enough games against the other teams in this WC race to be able to take back control. It is still an uphill climb until those teams lose some of those games in hand. We have to keep winning. Win one, lose one won't get it done. But a nice little winning streak here will.

The good thing about it is that the teams we are chasing for the wild card spot -- I believe we have to play each one of them 1 or 2 times, and if the Jet's can win those key games, that may be the way they get it, and if they lose those games, it will be an awfully tough task.

If we lose those games, we are done.

Once the two settled in together I liked the Morrissey DeMelo pairing. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of them over the next little while.

We need a legit 2C to really create two dangerous lines. That should be the Jets biggest priority this off season.

Harkins and Roslovic with Little might be a nice third scoring line.

Still liking Harkins game. He still makes a few gaffs here and there, but he can clean that up. Really smart plays in both ends, in my opinion.

I like the motor. Plays hard, all the time.

Since the TD they have been playing pretty good hockey and certainly good enough to be a playoff team. We are 2-1-1 in the last week. We got 3 out of 4 points in a B2B against one of the best teams in the league in the Caps. Lost a tight one on the road to a pretty good Oilers team where we deserved a better fate. Came home and took of business with a tidy win last night.

It isn't just 2-1-1. It is that we are looking much better in most, if not all recent games, even the losses. D is getting better and we are at least looking dangerous offensively. I hope the Eakin line starts to score a few. I think we will need that. And I want the 2015 line back together, including with MP and Lowry back. I highly doubt Maurice will do that. It would mean Copp and Lowry on the 4th line. Heaven forbid we should have an actually good 4th line.

Roslovic has looked very good lately , man if he could get just a little more consistent he could be the 2nd center i think the Jets hoped he would be . Roslovic , Ehlers and Laine could be a very good 2nd line .

I couldn't watch the entire game either. My PVR/DVR conked out, but luckily, it did so after all three goals were scored. Great to go online and find out Jets won! Just need to string together some wins...GJG!
