Connor can't even clutch the empty net hattie SMH.

So the DeMelo Morrissey era began tonight and I give a big thumbs up. If we actually have a functional first pair like this and Pionk can keep on keeping on then it’s a clear step forward for our D core.

Captain obvious but winning a game we need to win is never as easy as it looks. That was a tidy night that keeps us in the fight.

Watching the game in a sports bar in Toronto made it all the more enjoyable.

well done Jets

Connor keeps growing as a player. He just may end up being the guy who scores in and around 40 a season for a decade or more and ends up being one of those guys with 500+ goal numbers when all is said and done on his career. I'm really liking his game and the fact we have him for 7 years at a very reasonable number.
At only 7 mil.

I'm very hopeful Chevy finds a way to lock up DeMelo. If he can it will be a great use of a 3rd round pick.

I liked Eakin's game centering the 2nd -

He doesn't appear to be very interested in scoring goals and really doesn't have to with these two wingers.

He spends most of his time chasing down puck carriers and cutting off passing routes. Has a really sneaky stick that he uses really well when defending and stripping pucks - and he uses those short little outlet passes to get things moving in the other direction.
There's nothing flashy about him and unless you're paying attention, you can miss what he's doing out there -

The 2nd line was dangerous tonight and he had a lot to do with it - in a sneaky way.
Anyone else seeing this?

I'll second that -
Very good, safe defender that we desperately need to add a little composure to our back end - some of that might already be rubbing off on a few of the other guys.
It's interesting that a D man with zero offense can have such an impact -

Didn’t see the game but 15 mins each, 7 sog combined and no points doesn’t sound very dangerous?

I love the way Eakin plays. Perfect acquisition without giving up an early draft pick or top prospect. His experience, attention to detail and defensive game instantly makes us a better team. It will also often be contagious to those younger players around him.

Garage is now packed solid with Ramen and toilet paper, if this Corona virus thing takes hold here I'm going to be filthy rich!:D

You must be the house just down the back lane from mine...whenever the garage is open, it has cases of KD, toilet paper and Ramen stacked to the ceiling.
