Another power play goal for Barlow...46% of his points are from the power play.Barlow scored again last night, making it 9 goals in his last 9 games. Tied for 20th in goals in the OHL and tied for 2nd in PPG. That's after 0 goals in his first seven games with Oshawa.
I realize you want guys producing at 5v5 but this year we're seeing what an elite PP can do in terms of glossing over some poor play elsewhereAnother power play goal for Barlow...46% of his points are from the power play.
Barlow's currently 61st in the OHL in points, but 106th in even strength points (15). 109th in ES points per game (0.47).
Kevin He is 11th in OHL for points, and 7th in ES points (34). 10th in ES points/game (1.03). Only 25% of his points are on the power play.
Walton is 5th in OHL for points, and 16th in ES points (28). 21st in ES points/game (0.88). 48% of his points are on the power play (even more than Barlow).

It's still early days and I'm not writing anyone off, but Barlow's in his D+2 year and his scoring has been disappointing aside from the power play - and even his power play numbers aren't setting the world on fire (as opposed to Walton in his D+1 and crushing it on the PP and still making big contributions at ES).I realize you want guys producing at 5v5 but this year we're seeing what an elite PP can do in terms of glossing over some poor play elsewhere
Imagine having a 2nd unit with Barlow in Connor's spot who can regularly contribute

He did produce with the Moose in his extremely limited time last season (i know, sample size...)Last year he was slowed by injury. This year he took quite a while adjusting to his new team.
I'm more concerned about a lack of development in his all around game than about failure to increase his raw scoring numbers.
I wish we had drafted Calum Ritchie instead. Oh well, just wishful thinking.
The mods have heard he is refusing to sign here and expect all hell will break loose. Why is the Walton thread closed?

Some player's junior games don't translate well to the pros, and once in a while it's the other way around. We'll find out more next season when he's there full time
and almost all from the same spot
No doubt. Same as Laine. You think teams could defend it but we have seen over the years they cannot. It is a special skill.
You guys must be joking comparing him to Ovechkin... or even Laine for that matter.
Kieron Walton celebrated the thread reopening with a 2 goal 2 assist performance which included OT game winner vs Brampton.
I reopened it.
I was thinking the same thing. I guess if you're Walton and you've gotten to this point, why not wait a week to sign it?OK now that it is Jan 1, I would be lying if i didn't say that I was at least slightly concerned that Walton hasn't been signed to an ELC. I believe Dec 31st was the deadline to sign him to get his ELC to slide for 2 years, makes me wonder what the holdup was to getting it done. I am not panicking but a bit concerned.
