Prospect Info: Jets Prospects

He's definitely playing at the correct level for his development finally. Looks like more of a speedy goal scorer than playmaker but I'll take it as he's shown some good chemistry with a playmaker In Perfetti this past TC.

It is something to be said that our coach is letting Lambert in effect be the ‘QB’ of the team. Shows great confidence in Lambert’s ability to include his teammates and move the puck

Likely should have had about 3 or 4 more assists if his linemates could have scored. Guenthar was denied a couple of easy ones. Had 5 good shots on net and he really forced the D to back up because of his speed with the puck. He really has adapting well to the NA style at this level and his confidence has just grown with it.

Interesting comparisons between him and Lucius style at this level. Lucuis was more cerebral and he did a lot of things in tight to the net. Both guys have tremendous releases and shots at this level. Lambert is way more speed then Lucuis but Lucuis play on the boards was superior. Both guys have great vision and they both play well with high end players. Not sure if they can elevate players that don't think the game on their level so for me both guys have to play in the top 6.

I would have thought our center depth not very good but both guys are showing me a lot. Too bad we won't see them head to head this year

I see Lambert with Perfetti some day. I liked how they played off of each other in rookie camp and TC.

Lucious likely with McGroarty if they pan out.

I don't know that I see either as a center in the NHL though. I still think Cole is the best bet we have given how he reads the game in all zones.

Agreed. Don’t see why Perfetti couldn’t carve out a career as a Stastny like centre. They both possess similar abilities.

I'm not really sure the trade to Kitchener has worked out all that great for Zhilkin, his point totals are down and his team is in a worse spot than the team he came from.

Chibrikov is playing his 5th game in 5 days, 3 with MHL and 2 in KHL. Granted though he only played a combined 1:56 in the KHL in those two games.

He has 2G1A in those 3 MHL games and has a period left to play.

McGroarty played last night after missing the past few. Had an assist.

Kuzmin had 1G2A last night. I'm oddly underwhelmed by his output this season even though he has 50 points in 54 games. He had such a strong second half last year that it's actually a small step back.

Chibrikov added another goal in the 3rd. 2G1A in the game.

Lambert now at a 1.6 PPG pace after 10 games. That would be over 107 points in a regular season in the CHL.

I believe Kids with skill need to rack up points in volume during their development at some point so I look at this as an essential stage For Brad.

The Ranger recently canned their coach and Zhilkin was a almost a PPG but was not so good in +/-, along with the rest of the team. There was a coaching issue long before Zhilkin came in so Im curious to see if the coaching change helps him & the team figure it out.

Moose had a 4 minute penalty kill to end the game yesterday while they were up 2-1, Heinola played a huge part in killing it and securing the win.
Heinola has always been good defensively. Some people just jump to the conclusion that small=weak defensively while tall = defensive d-man.

He hasn't been great, he also hasn't been worse than some regulars in the lineup.
Making the jump from AHL to NHL seems to be tougher as a D than an F IMHO

As a forward, maybe your points decline as you adapt to the new pace of play and level of competition but you could be orherwise invisible... but as a D, your adaptation process vs the best players in the world is more likely to involve being visibly exposed and pucks may end up in the net behind you.

I think that if the Jets weren't having the year they they are having, heinola would be learning and developing on the fly in the NHL. But right now, they aren't in the position to allow for a D spot to be dedicated to anyone's development
