Lambert just scored on a breakaway vs Tri City.
That speed
He's definitely playing at the correct level for his development finally. Looks like more of a speedy goal scorer than playmaker but I'll take it as he's shown some good chemistry with a playmaker In Perfetti this past TC.
Likely should have had about 3 or 4 more assists if his linemates could have scored. Guenthar was denied a couple of easy ones. Had 5 good shots on net and he really forced the D to back up because of his speed with the puck. He really has adapting well to the NA style at this level and his confidence has just grown with it.
Interesting comparisons between him and Lucius style at this level. Lucuis was more cerebral and he did a lot of things in tight to the net. Both guys have tremendous releases and shots at this level. Lambert is way more speed then Lucuis but Lucuis play on the boards was superior. Both guys have great vision and they both play well with high end players. Not sure if they can elevate players that don't think the game on their level so for me both guys have to play in the top 6.
I would have thought our center depth not very good but both guys are showing me a lot. Too bad we won't see them head to head this year
Agreed. Don’t see why Perfetti couldn’t carve out a career as a Stastny like centre. They both possess similar abilities.I see Lambert with Perfetti some day. I liked how they played off of each other in rookie camp and TC.
Lucious likely with McGroarty if they pan out.
I don't know that I see either as a center in the NHL though. I still think Cole is the best bet we have given how he reads the game in all zones.

The Ranger recently canned their coach and Zhilkin was a almost a PPG but was not so good in +/-, along with the rest of the team. There was a coaching issue long before Zhilkin came in so Im curious to see if the coaching change helps him & the team figure it out.I'm not really sure the trade to Kitchener has worked out all that great for Zhilkin, his point totals are down and his team is in a worse spot than the team he came from.
Still chugging along
Heinola has always been good defensively. Some people just jump to the conclusion that small=weak defensively while tall = defensive d-man.Moose had a 4 minute penalty kill to end the game yesterday while they were up 2-1, Heinola played a huge part in killing it and securing the win.
No, it's because he hasn't defended well at the nhl level.Heinola has always been good defensively. Some people just jump to the conclusion that small=weak defensively while tall = defensive d-man.
He hasn't been great, he also hasn't been worse than some regulars in the lineup. No, it's because he hasn't defended well at the nhl level.
Making the jump from AHL to NHL seems to be tougher as a D than an F IMHOHe hasn't been great, he also hasn't been worse than some regulars in the lineup.
