I haven't had a chance to read the article. This is just one analysts opinion using their criteria. Idk how much objectivity is used in it.

Wheeler's model and projections have always liked what the Jets do. It's objective in that he doesn't lean towards one team over another when deciding on his list but scouting is a subjective business in many ways anyway.

One thing I'll say about Wheeler (and Pronman to an extent) is that they aren't as concerned about skating as other scouts are, especially if the player has major upside in other areas and if the player knows how to adapt to their skating issues. Of the 4 Jets prospects, skating is mentioned in all 4 writeups - Lambert is probably the fastest on the full list of 50, and the other 3 have skating "concerns" but he believes the player has shown enough hockey sense to overcome that.

He's always loved Perfetti. He thinks Lambert will need to have a strong WHL season this year to justify this spot but thinks it's very possible as the top scoring threat on a loaded championship level team. He's worried that Lucius came out of school too fast given his health issues over the past couple of years but he's got lots of talent.

For the record, his top 5 are Owen Power, Luke Hughes, Shane Wright, Simon Nemec, and Logan Cooley.

what I mean is objective criteria or stats that aren't affected by bias. For instance perfetti, luscious, and mcgroarty were his favorite interviews pre draft. Does that bias creep into his rankings? Not sure. I need to renew my athletic for the year and I'll take a read through. But thought I'd share this since it came up on my feed.

I think it does to some degree, but it's a factor that some scouts weigh. He only mentioned off ice charisma in relation to McGroarty though.

Hence why I said I am unsure how much objectivity his criteria is based on when there's clear favorites/bias or subjective opinions bc he likes the guys interview (vs not).
Having said that I don't doubt perfetti and mcgroarty will be solid nhl players. Lucius I don't know enough on to have a qualified option.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. He says this is an annual thing so how have his Top 50 lists from previous years aged with the passage of time?
Saw this from a poster:

Take these with a grain of salt. In 2018 Scott had Casey Middlesteldt(4) and Filip Zadina (5) over Cale Makar (19) and Nick Suzuki (30). These lists are fun,
but in no way reflect the prospects future in the NHL.

Every analyst has their share of hits and misses though. Dunno if he has more/less than the average though

And even with McGroarty he goes out of his way to make the point that you can't fall in love with that off ice charisma to the point where it skews your view of what the player does on-ice

Heinola, Samberg and Chisholm should be our young Ds for years to come. But you’re right, a true number one D would be nice to draft.

One of the elements we could add by trade or by drafting is a true blue chip D prospect. As I gaze into the future it would be great if we could add an asset that is a pure #1 that could push everyone else down One slot.

So if we made up team just with our prospects (using the same definition as our current prospects rating poles) what would the lines look like:

4 lines, 12 forwards and 6 defence 2 goalies.

Who fits with who?

McGroarty - Perfetti - Rashevsky
Chibrikov - Barron - Lucius
Torgersson - Gustavsson - Lambert
Zhilkin - Nikkanen - Wagner

Samberg - Gawanke
Heinola - Salomonsson
Chisholm - Lundmark

DiVincentiis

So with Perfetti, Lucius, and Chibrikov being out is it just Lambert and Torgersson playing Juniors from the Jets' system?
