Probably the most meaningless thing ever, which is why Aavco is posting it.
I laughed out loud at this. Maybe a bit of a dig? From the Hockey News: Prospect Pool Overview: Winnipeg Jets
Good read, not sure how Kuzmin's year could be seen as a regression, first year in North America and was around and maybe over a point per game after the first 20 or so games of the season. From the Hockey News: Prospect Pool Overview: Winnipeg Jets
I think he had a hugely successful season and I just hope he returns to the OHL again this coming season and takes another stepGood read, not sure how Kuzmin's year could be seen as a regression, first year in North America and was around and maybe over a point per game after the first 20 or so games of the season.
EDIT: To be more exact, he had 31 points in his final 30 games of the season.
Yeah honestly I don't know how much more you could have asked for a draft+1 defenseman in his first season in North America. He started low in the defensive depth chart of the team and worked his way up to the go to defenseman on the team. If his defense got better like the writer says then that's just even more if a plus. His shot volume in the last half of the season was also insane.I think he had a hugely successful season and I just hope he returns to the OHL again this coming season and takes another step
Thanks for this. I didn’t know that he had worked his way all the way up the lineup. That’s super encouraging!Yeah honestly I don't know how much more you could have asked for a draft+1 defenseman in his first season in North America. Salomonsson halfway through a Champions League game, #44.

EDIT: Salomonsson makes a nice defensive play, breaks the puck out himself (he's a very good skater) and then makes a bad pass breaking into the opponent's zone and they come back and get a good chance. So mixed bag on that shift.
EDIT: Great keep and pass for Salomonsson and Skelleftea scores. Should get the secondary assist.
EDIT: Salomonsson on PP1. Guy loves to skate the puck up himself and makes quick decisions. Had a great one time opportunity that hit traffic in front and trickled by the post.
EDIT: Salomonsson seems to be on the ice every other shift. I wonder if there was an injury on defense before I started watching. He's been very impressive on breakouts and in offensive zone. Almost got caught cheating up in the defensive zone a couple times.
EDIT: Good lord this kid is active and confident. Crazy that he just turned 18 two days ago.
EDIT: Puck hits post, sits in the crease, and is pulled out to deny Salomonsson his 2nd assist of the game. Kid's going to put up points this year.
EDIT: Skelleftea loses 3-2, Salomonsson used heavily with the empty net.
He looked really good to be honest. A little lost in the defensive zone but he wasn't there often. I saw him behind the opposition's goal a surprising amount. It seems that all the Championship League games are streamed on YouTube, next Skelleftea game is Sunday at 8am.Thanks for the update!
I posted in a different thread that I think Salomonsson has the potential to be a guy we look back in our prospect rankings and wonder why we had him so low. Obviously could go the other way too, but he is very young (almost a 2023 draftee I think), and has a lot of upside. Excited to watch this kid progress.

Rashevsky with a goal and an assist, but had the lowest TOI on the team at 9:57. Nobody else had less than 11 minutes. Doesn't seem to be an injury as his goal came late in the 3rd. His and O'Dell's line has been listed as the 3rd line for preseason and the first 2 games of the season but he still played ~16 minutes in the first game.
The KHL regular season started a few days agoPre-season game. They know what that line can do .... as demonstrated in their <10 minutes.
