I'd put Chibrikov in front of Lucius myself. Not that I don't like Lucius' game, he seems to always be in the right spot at the right time and that's a great skill to have in itself, I just like Chibrikov's all around game more.
Lucius gets a bump due to being the new shiny toy, but I have some concerns with his game. Could see him sliding after his draft +1 season is over

Chibrikov’s knock against is the lack of games played this season, and very little highlights to go off of.
Outside of the pre draft video, I have minimal awareness of his game; but I really like what I have seen and was hoping for a longer view at the World Jr. tournament.

My top 10

Perfetti
Heinola
Lucius
Rashevsky
Chibrikov
Gus
Samberg
Chisholm
Smith
Torgersson

Top 5 guys all have top 6 Forward top 4 D potential. The next 5 are NHLers in some form.

I have Lucius 3 just because the guy can score like nobodies business and I think he will just explode next year.
Rashevsky is the biggest surprise and he looks like a real nice top 6 guy potentially for us.
Chibs is rising too

You could flip around all 3 imo in any order but this is just my preference

Gus if he can stay healthy is trending as 3C in the league
Samberg will be in the league at some time
Chisholm I like his development path so far
Smith has skill and if he adjusts to the pro game he will be in the league soon
Torgersson I think people sleep on him a bit because his game isn't flashy but I think it will translate well in North America

HM - Gawanke right shot in the minors having a great season

I look at Torgersson and wonder if he could develop into a Nichushkin type player. Big bodied, good on the forecheck with a solid 200 ft game and some untapped offense. If so I’d consider that a win.

thoughts on the goalies? also i loved kuzmin in the draft last year but haven't kept tabs on him.

That puts Smith back into the sole point leader of the NCAA after missing the last few due to injury.

Do we have a Hobey Baker candidate here?

Do we want him winning that?
He was voted preseason by coaches as being the most likely to win the Hobey Baker. 6 points in the last 2 days after coming back from injury. My main concern is how Mankato just seems to steamroll any team they play. Is he leading a good team or is the CCHA just really weak this year?

They knocked off Minnesota-Duluth twice last week without Smith. So they are legit. But the CCHA when I watch it is not that good in terms of competitiveness.

I find it odd that Smith is the only drafted player on the #1 team in the country. There are some guys on that team that the Moose should be looking at. They picked up Burgess after last season.

Maass is also drafted, but yeah pretty crazy. I doubt they're better than a team like Michigan but I remember to start the season they beat a top team twice in a row pretty handedly. They do also seem to be a much older team though, Smith, Furry, Maass are all 23, Hirose 22, Napravnik 24. That makes a big difference in a league where players who make it tend to be out by 20.

I guess we get a better idea once they get into post-season games against better teams.

I agree that is a distinct advantage at the college level, when you have 23 year old juniors, and 24 year old seniors.

I don't know if it is Scott Sandelin doing the recruiting, he's been there since 2000, but that's an impressive team from what I have watched. Not quite in Red Berenson country, but Minneota St. has become a contender since Smith joined that team.

I he has a Hobey Baker year, Chevy has to look at bringing him straight onto the roster. Could have a Cole Caufield effect on this team.

All of a sudden it’s fun to check in our prospect pool again. Our depth has improved.

Lucious is an interesting kid. He likes to get the puck on and off his stick fast but he’s growing on me. Definitely getting better as the season goes along.

Smith is older but having a season.

Our Russian kids both intrigue me.

The more irons in the fire the better.
