I’m not worried about the Jets not getting Smith signed. They do well getting their own drafted prospects under contract and I’m sure they’re impressed enough with his progression and signing him will be prioritized accordingly.

Kid holds the cards. If he doesn't want to go spend time on the bus in the A, he'll make negotiations difficult. I think he increases his value by going the distance, and that has to be a worry for the Jets management now.

I’m not worried. Chevy will get it done.

Of course he holds the cards, but same can be said about any really good prospect if they don’t want to be part of your organization. Wheeler did just that to the Coyotes.

We haven't yet failed to get one of our college prospects that we have wanted to keep signed to a a deal.

I'm not concerned.

I'm not sure what cards he holds. There's only one team he can sign with before August 2023. If he wants to play next year, it's with us. And his contract is pretty much a standard contract. Not sure what cards he holds besides waiting an extra year. Kid is already 22 I think.

Chevy's playing with house money, hitting on this guy, if he can't sign him in April, he can trade him for a decent pick.

Chibrikov made it to the Team Russia WJC roster even though he missed the recent scrimmage due to an injury.

Thanks to Russia's silly policy of leaving out players who play in North America. Though looking at that list I think he may have snuck in there anyways.

Strange comment, sounds like Chibrikov-Svechkov-Michkov is going to be a top 6 line on the team. Who is playing in North America that you think would push him down and/or out?

No one, though his injury combined with the NA guys it may have made it harder for him.
