He will be excellent at moving the puck and giving it to players with more natural scoring abilities or those who make a living down in front of the net. Consider he played with Guenthar(natural goal scorer) and Schaefer(down low monster) all he had to do is skate with the puck and make good passes.
Might befa good fit with players like Lucius and McGroarty/Barlow. With the Moose, maybe with Torgersson and Lucius.

Salomonsson playing in the summer showcase, Chris Peters had this to say about his game in a 7-0 win over the US:

"Elias Salomonsson, D (Winnipeg Jets): A tall defender, Salomonsson has definitely gotten stronger and stronger over the last two years, tacking on muscle to his frame and playing with more of a mean streak. He defended with physicality and was hard to knock off pucks. USA couldn’t get much traction in the hard areas when he was on the ice"

Wagner got an assist in the game. McGroarty scored a goal in the second US game in a 4-2 loss against Finland.

I am very high on this player. Anyone got any intel on if he’ll ever come over? I know he’s signed for this year and the next but can he leave the khl early?
He cannot, there is no transfer agreement between the NHL and KHL. Carolina did try to buy Nikishin out of his contract a couple years ago but it's hard to imagine it would have went through even if he KHL team agreed and it's probably even less likely to happen now with the war.

Which makes it seem less likely for him to ever come over. Wonder what he’s making there? Could we persuade him?

If it's an option between the NHL and KHL I think he'd come over, at his age and skill level it's more an option between AHL and KHL and he'll take the KHL every time. If he does well the next two years and feels like he's ready for the NHL he'll come. Thankfully we hold his rights for 4-5 more years I believe.

Yeah, by the time his contract is over there will likely be a couple of roster spots. If he develops we'll he could win one.

Saw this randomly on twitter fwiw:

Yeah I figured that was the case and would make the most sense for him. No reason to leave home to play in a lesser league at lesser pay. He'll come over when he's more confident that he's ready.

So he's planning to come over for his 25 YO season? Probably already past his peak year. A couple of Russian players have succeeded that way but I think they are outliers. Maybe we see in a couple of years.
