I agree with everything here. But that 1st sentence of your’s unfortunately tells a horrible thing about the state of hockey at the moment. You can practically win it all with just an average skilled team if you have a lot of speedy grinders and just play fast pinball hockey with a good enough system. That is sad.

Might change the way contracts are negotiated going forward, but I doubt it. I still think it's an aberration, and unless they repeat it's not going to change much.

I do think it speaks a lot to how the rules are enforced. It feels like the NHL is reverting to pre-lockout hockey sans the dump and chase. It's almost like the NHL saw the U-23 team and was like "Nope, can't have speed and skill." Which is an interesting thought all on its own, I think calling slashes so much tighter this season made players start playing closer to the body and wrapping their arms around the other guy's stick.

Interference is something that needs to be looked at next I think, it's not a danger to players though, so I doubt they do anything. It does make for boring as f*** hockey though.

Have a feeling we’re gonna hear about some pretty bad injuries in the coming days/weeks.

Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if Little was playing with some kind of nagging LBI (groin?).

I know he struggled at various points early in the year, but he did not look like himself at any time in these playoffs.

I’m willing to bet a third of the team has something going on that would otherwise normally keep them out.

Vegas worked hard, and it was clear they were fresher. But holy moley, their luck is unbelievable. Not so much the actual shots that resulted in goals, but the consistency with which every single bounce or deflection ended up on a Knight's stick in scoring position (or seemed to, anyway). Their PDO for the playoffs was 104.72 coming into this game too (highest among all playoff teams). I'm fine admitting if we just got beat, but all the numbers from each game say we were the victims of the hockey gods. Bummer, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Great season, and let's begin the dynasty starting next year!

We're a year away. 82-83 Oilers weren't ready either. It's gonna come out soon how banged up we were. Evidence was already there if looking at the hits. Jets were way below our average. You can't play heavy when you're injured. Lowry already confirmed to be playing with broken ribs. More news will come.

Hat's off to the team. Next year is out year. There's gonna be shake ups with at least two trades due to waivers, but those losses will net some futures & this core is just getting better with time. I'm sad, but know in my heart that the best is yet to come.

Very interested to see how Vegas performs next season. Are they really this good, is it just the perfect storm of decent players playing above their heads and luck/goaltending/good coaching? Are they here to stay or does the clock strike midnight and they look next year how people expected them to be this year?

I don't know Ipp --I guess you can look at this many different ways. Just because you have talent, really means nothing. I think this says a lot about playing as a "unified team" and what real great Goaltending can do for you.

It reminds me of the 1960's and 70's when Canada sent over all our "stars" to play the old Soviet Union teams.( Russians) People said the Russians never had a chance but they beat our butts pretty badly in a lot of games. That's what this series says to me.

I also like the fact--that it says--you just can't buy a team of big names and expect to win--there is a lot of strategy involved.

Anyways my Finn friend--enjoyed talking with you this year--have a great summer, and keep the faith--the young Jet's look tired-- "they will be back." This team can win the Cup-- need a couple players, and the young guys to mature a bit. regards GNP:)

Disagree... the difference was Vegas completely out worked the Jets. They were the faster team, the Jets forgot how to make passes halfway through the Nashville series.

Great season for the Jets, really proud of all of them to be honest, they played really well, but playing every second day for the past 2-3 weeks was always going to come back and bite them. Just didn't have the legs.

Full props to Vegas, and Fleury especially. I won't go as far as saying it was all luck, but I also won't say they were the better team, as almost all underlying stats point to the Jets playing better over the course of the series and getting stoned by a hot goalie.

Ultimately Jets are going to get better, this is very good experience for the younger players and can only benefit them in the future.

Besides, the prophecy said we'd win it next year anyways :sarcasm: was a pleasure discussing, agreeing, arguing and spewing profanity at and with all of you this season! Onto the off-season, now I can rest my clenching muscles.

I'm absolutely ecstatic about how far we got this season !!! But i'm more upset at how we played in a do or die situation , at HOME !!! Just brutal !!! :shakehead Of course it's easy to second guess everything now but was it a good idea to play a guy like Kulikov , he hadn't played in months . He didn't do too bad but playing first game back in months , in a WCF elimination game ? Even Morrow hadn't played in a long time . I'm just really pissed at the effort by our guys in a do or die situation , not good , not good at all. :shakehead

I don't disagree, but when you're moving and then someone grabs your arm as you're going by it's harder to get your legs going again.

The Golden Knights forecheck was also much better all series, the Jets just couldn't keep up outside of the neutral zone. The opposite of Nashville really, where they couldn't get through the neutral zone but once they got into Nashville's zone they looked fine.

6 UFA's to sign & another 4 RFA's, 3 of which have arbitration rights. Karlsson's gonna command a heavy penny.

Fleury will be 34 to start the season. Without him playing all world level the Knights aren't contenders.

Laine must of thought question was in regards to how he played this series.

Laine is a player who cares greatly. He's scored 44 goals this year and 12 points in 16 games in his first playoffs versus opponents who targeted him out of the play as much as possible. Lets not turn on him. Or Hellebyuck for that matter. I remember a poster saying yesterday or the day before that this is only the first tough loss and that it's something every team goes through so suck it up. Harsh to hear but all part of the game. We've paid our dues like any other team now and if we get that cup one day it will make it all the more special.
