Great season for the Jets. The big difference was goaltending / puck luck. I don't think Helle was bad at all or deserves ANY blame, but Fleury was better.

What this team needed was a few days rest. See Roslovic.

Ugly end and nothing but death and despair at the moment. Was still an amazing season and am confident going forward.
Ya'll have a nice summer, hear! Only half a year til the next Zhamnov GDT.
Yup. Unfortunately it took 7 games to beat Nsh so we play every second night. Hard to win like that.

This bunch of "underrated castoffs"--will win the Stanley Cup in about 6 games -- I don't see any team better than them right now. The Jet's played them very tough== bright future for the young Jets !!! :thumbu:

Maurice did absolutely nothing between games 2 and now.

This is mostly on him in my opinion. Stand pat Chevy? More like stand pat Maurice

I would have to assume that Maurice tried to convince his young stars that you also have to work hard to win in the PO's.

A team like Vegas has a lot to offer - look how they won and how their players bought into a D structure. The easy part for Vegas is that their core already knew how to work - they just needed to learn to work together. The skilled Jets, on the other hand, had to learn how to work and unfortunately, many of them are still learning.

The team is young - they are still learning. If you expected them to win it all this year (before winning a single PO game), maybe your expectations were a little out there.

I'll take final 4 - a huge achievement for this group when you consider how much they still need to learn.
Their potential is enormous - I'm looking forward to being a fan for a while yet.

What I'm not going to do is listen to those that want to call out a coaching staff that took this team as far as they did this year.

See you all at the draft - have a great summer!

Also, a nice juicy dose of karma for those saying we would wax Vegas this series.

They are a well coached team with a hot goaltender who completely figured out and neutralized the Jets offense for most of the games. (Not counting our third period wake ups each game)

I could see us doing poorly next year - I don't have any faith in Maurice.

We were a one line team in the third round. Full marks to Vegas.

There will be / should be lots of questions of what to do over the summer IMO. Why did they fail so badly?

Thank you, Jets, for an amazing season where they took so many steps forward.

I f***inh hate Vegas but everything seems to be aligning for them so whatever. They've outlasted 29 other teams as well so it's hard to justify my previous "gross, Vegas viewpoint."

This team is young and many players still have room to improve. I'm looking forward to next year. Even Chicago had to lose a conference final before winning 3 cups in 6 years!

Jets will never win anything unless they learn how to D.

Also PP cannot be that predictable. It's insane, it's almost criminal.

It's sad to see how the Jets got so harsly outcoached by Vegas. And people keep parrotting about "luck". The Jets almost never had a lead in their 4 losses. That has basically nothing to do with luck, but a lot of to do with discipline, with game plan, with 4 lines without stars and ego issues sticking into the plan and every single moment knowing exactly what they are supposed to do.

Could Jets have won some of those games with some luck? Absolutely. But those goals Jets gave to Vegas were so brutal, and had usually nothing to do with luck.

Good season. Good but not great playoffs. Beating Nashville was awesome. Crushing Minny was pretty good. Losing to an expansion team in 5 - not so good.

This isn't an expansion team. It's a team with no old boys shit and a bunch of young players looking for opportunity. NHL is full of talent being held back.

Enough hockey for now. See you in September. I don't think I'm going to watch any more playoffs I can't stomach it after that.

I agree with everything here. But that 1st sentence of your’s unfortunately tells a horrible thing about the state of hockey at the moment. You can practically win it all with just an average skilled team if you have a lot of speedy grinders and just play fast pinball hockey with a good enough system. That is sad.
