Glenn Healy was on the FAN today. he's a boob (still quotes +/- all the time and thinks Corsi is dumb) but he still owns an opinion.
he thinks the Jets absolutely and clearly won the trade.
if 1 of the 2 prospects significantly contributes and the 1st round pick makes the bigs, then he may not be wrong.

Hey now. Boobs are awesome.

didn't see any of my fellow Sabres fans post this but here's Evander just bantering about with our intermission crew.
Nothing of substance tbh. Just get the feeling that he's happy to be in Buffalo and that's good. I mean you guys have Myers putting up PPG AND ALL WE HAVE TO SHOW FOR IT IS GOD DAMN INTERVIEWS OKAY GOD LEAVE ME ALONE

So much for Jet Hockey. New guys have NO HITTER against Stars! Bogo had 11 himself the other nite. Hate this trade.

Yeah the Jets won, but obviously you are more interested in individual stats...

Bogo is asserting himself with the team, i don't think he can keep hitting 11 hits a game

every time you give, it takes a toll on your body as well.

That's one of the element we lost when Bogo left, but it is also not like Bogo has been a hitting machine.

Hits are not necessarily a good stat.

Guess when you hit people?
When you don't have the puck.

High possession, low hits.

Generally, I'm of the mind that many offensive zone hits is good, many defensive zone hits is bad, and indicative of chasing in the one zone one doesn't want to be chasing in.

I think the stats don't tell the story in this case.

(Also, Myers came as advertised--he plays defense with his stick because it's four metres long. I like that.)

Nice interview by Evander and he was certainly putting on the charm. They showed his career stats on a graphic in the video and boy was I wrong about something;
I was under the impression that the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg before the 2011-2012 season and Evander scored 30 goals for the Jets that year but I was set straight by that video because it told me that Evander scored 30 goals with Atlanta in 2011-2012 and then began playing with Winnipeg a year later. Boy do I feel dumb now.

"Winnipeg is a very small town, but it's a big hockey market," Kane said. "It's a little tougher than Vancouver or Toronto where you maybe get away a little bit. It's a fishbowl. Being a Winnipeg Jet was something that everybody knew who you were and they always want to talk to you, which is great, and that was one of the things you definitely enjoy. But … negative things can take a toll a little bit.

Really Evander did you really enjoy people wanting to talk to you?

Hey Jet fans, coming in peace. Just wanting to ask what you've thought of Myers and Stafford thusfar.

Myers has been pretty good. He really puts his reach to good use to defend and has been great offensively. I thought he did a good job covering for Enstrom last night, who was having a bad game.

Stafford has been pretty meh for the most part so far, but without him our forward lineup looks even worse. I'm happy to have him.

Really liking Myers's game. Smooth skater, long reach.... long-ass windup but what a slapper.

Stafford is fitting in nicely as well, works hard, hopefully will get the points to show it.

Bogo was always high on hits, low on takeaways. I much prefer a defenseman who can actually take the puck back and turn it up ice.

I think Myers is excellent, I'm happy to have him.

I'm kind of indifferent to Stafford. It's like you could look back at his point contributions and say he's doing OK, but he's not a difference maker, at least yet. There's nothing he does that makes him stick out IMO.

Considering the fact that he appears to be keeping Thorburn out of the top 6, Stafford is a gift from the heavens.

Love Myers.

I like what I see in Meyers and Stafford but I miss Bogo. I even miss the way Kane plays. Someone else mentioned it, but our style/team is to be big, fast, hit and be aggressive. Sure we still hit, but Bogo and Kane were all of the above, big, fast, aggressive and they liked to hit. We still play like that, but with those two it was even more so. I'm sure teams even more so would be keeping their heads up with those two in the lineup.

Jets just played 2 of the toughest and biggest team, back to back. They did not come out to shabby. I think they did better, took it to them even with the Blues games.

Jets are now a balance team, IMO. :D
