With Alexander Holtz poised to be Jack Hughes' running mate, Zetterlund proving to be an effective two-way forward and Hischier eventually returning from injury, where does that leave Bratt?
On the second line next to Hischier as usual.

Sharangovich is the one you should be worried about where he plays but I’m guessing line 2 with Hischier and Bratt.

He's our best winger by far, he's not the one who is "left to find a spot" lol.

Only reason we would trade Jesper Bratt is if he refuses to sign long term with us. He’s a star forward and is only going to get better.

nope dead serious
Bratt is good but he still hasn't proven that he's a consistent player to get paid big money like that, they'll either do ~6M ~6.5M for 8 years or he'll take a shorter term contract (2-3 years) so he could prove his value and earn a big payday once it's up.

No chance he gets anywhere close to 9M now. You talk about Tkachuk but he has other elements to his game as well.

Sadly you're probably right. But I'd prefer a shooter and someone willing to play in the hard areas.

Bratt is better than Tkachuk. I expect him to outscore Tkachuk this year.

I have to say, the small group of Devils fans that have something against Bratt is both odd and amusing. Like, did he not sign an autograph for these people or something?
Or perhaps he didn't sign a long term contract or something. Pretty easy to figure out, But by all means continue dunking on other Devils fans.

Except I'm pretty sure he and those other fans were doing this shit before the contract, so if you think that's the only reason I don't think you've been paying attention, or like those posters you just ignore reality to make up whatever bullshit narrative you're spinning.

Its obviously the main reason, If anyone is ignoring reality its you. There has only really been one person that constantly shown their dislikes Bratt. The VAST majority of the supposed "dislike" has come from his two short contracts via arbitration.

You are a longtime Devils fan so I would think you would understand that after us having our best players leave us in free agency and getting nothing would make fans want to ditch a player before he ditches us and to get some value from it.

Being rude and then doubling down on it after you get called out isn't a good look.

Can any Devils fans shed light on the current lineup? Is Holtz actually expected to stay with Hughes? No thought to easing him into the NHL?

Seems like a rookie would be better suited playing with a guy like Hischier that can better cover for his mistakes.

I'm guessing that he would stay with Hughes since they've actually had time to practice/playing games together. Hischier hasn't played much as he's been injured so they haven't had much time for chemistry.

I too think that he would be better with Hischier though. a Palat/Hischier/Holtz line would really benefit Holtz as Hischier and Palat are known for being good puck battlers. They could retrieve pucks the pucks for Holtz while he finds spots on the ice to do his amazing sniping.

Hughes being Holtz center forces him to become more of a playmaker and I don't think that is the skill that we drafted him for.

if preseason is an indication, they will run

sharangovich - hischier - bratt
palat - hughes - holtz

with haula replacing hischier, if he is not ready.
