Swayman isn’t going to get cozens and middlestadt won’t get swayman
Bingo.Swayman isn’t going to get cozens and middlestadt won’t get swayman
Don’t disagree with the thought of mitts plus not being worth in geberal but I think You’re undervaluing Rosen a bit my dude. I see him as the meat of this deal.Aquiring Swayman requires more value going to Boston. Even if he's the backup for the next 2 or 3 years, Mitts plus isn't something the Bruins really need.
They say yes in a heartbeat thats so much for a goalie. Goalies just dont have as much value in trades look at all the goalie trades over the last decade.Bruins say no
They say no because they have no need to trade him. They say yes in a heartbeat thats so much for a goalie. Goalies just dont have as much value in trades look at all the goalie trades over the last decade.
How did that work out for NJ. Id say this return is better anyway....There hasn't been a goalie the caliber and age of Swayman traded outside of Schneider and he got the 9th overall pick
Thats fair, I think the return is good though. They say no because they have no need to trade him.

Rosen isnt a failing prospect. 55 points for a 24 year old is bad? he was a late bloomer physically. Debrincat was three picks, 7th, 38th and somewhere in the 75 range. I get you dont like the deal for your team which is fine but you arent really being very genuine with your argument. I am not a Sabres fan, I am neutral here. I think it makes sense for the Bruins but if you dont thats ok.A guy who's having his first 55pt season at 24, a but of a failing prospect so far and a second is better than the 9th overall? Considering Debrincat just recently got a 9th overall pick id say that it's not even close.
And that trade was great for NJ the first two seasons before Schneider had some injuries IIRC and his play fell off a cliff
I’m not saying they say yes, but the Bruins absolutely have a need to trade him or make some hard decisions this summer. If the Bruins want to allocate a high cap number for their backup G, then they will need to compensate for that elsewhere on the roster. They say no because they have no need to trade him.

a 24 yar old hitting 55 points that can play up and down a lineup including playing center is not chump change. In fact it's arguably worth more to an every day roster than a BACKUP goalie is. You don't like or want the player thats fine, many other people have said the same thing. Keep both goalies and cut losses with all your team depth to be cap compliant then. If losing Coyle and half your defense is the better option than trading away your back up goalie then own it. Helps the Sabres anyways lolRosen is absolutely dropping in terms of value since being drafted and I don't see how that can be argued. He had a whopping 2G and 2A last year and left Sweden entirely this year after playing poorly.
A 24 year old whos only just now hitting 55pts for his first time doesn't hold much value. Thats just a meh 2nd/3rd liner.
A 2nd is a 2nd
How exactly is that worth more than a 9th overall pick?
So shout a number of teams. I’m not sure Boston could match a 3 x 4M offer sheet.Buffalo should just offer sheet Sway.
Okay thanks. I thought they were going to be pretty tight for cap space with the Kreiji and Bergeron bonuses carrying over to next year. They easily could and would
lol is he starting for yall yes or no?If you consider Swayman just a backup goalie then I don't know how to help you.
But I guess watching the Sabres for the last decade has probably skewed your vision on what a good player/team actually is.
They easily could and would
For middlestadt, Rosen and a 2nd? No that’s not enough for swayman. They say yes in a heartbeat thats so much for a goalie. Goalies just dont have as much value in trades look at all the goalie trades over the last decade.
Rosen was just picked in the first round 14th OA. Is having a great rookie season in the AHL as a 19 year old. These evaluations are really strange to me. They arent remotely accurate. Now you can say you dont like it as a Bruins fan which is fine but like your fellow fans these arent realistic or accurate descriptions of the players in the deal. I have no dog in this fight. This would be a large return for a goalie especially one that isnt remotely close to as good as Ulmark this year. Is Swayman really good? Or is he just on a good team. When there is this type of discrepancy with no other barometer how do we know for sure. For middlestadt, Rosen and a 2nd? No that’s not enough for swayman.
Martin Jones got the bruins a first and had much less value than swayman. Bruins aren’t giving up a goalie of swaymans caliber for a 3rd line center, a center who projects and an 3rd liner and a 2nd round pick.
If someone wants swayman it’s going to return a top 6 center. Not a bunch of marginal parts put together as one piece
He was drafted in 2021. For a 19 year old thats a fantastic AHL season for your first year in North America. His second half has also been alot better than the first, he is clearly developing with an upward trajectory. It would cause them to have to move someone, but if it came down to say paying for Forbort to go or taking a 2nd for Swayman then its a very easy choice
Was Rask just a backup goalie in 2010?
Hds having an ok rookie season after playing horrible in Sweden for the past 1.5 years
thay could and would withought a second thoughtSo shout a number of teams. I’m not sure Boston could match a 3 x 4M offer sheet.
Rosen just turned 20 years old. If he's valued as some sort of depreciating asset by another team I'd be just fine keeping him and letting him develop. He was always going to need a bit more time to develop than your typical high 1st rounder.Rosen is absolutely dropping in terms of value since being drafted and I don't see how that can be argued. He had a whopping 2G and 2A last year and left Sweden entirely this year after playing poorly.
