Yep this kid is exceeding all expectations of many. Habs have a plethora a stud D prospects. Maybe down the road some of these very prospects can help the organization trade for offensive players.
I told anyone who would listen every time his name came up "There is something about this guy"
He's clearly not our worst defender as we speak.

That's what happens when a player plays 4 full NCAA seasons, they develop properly.
This is why I hope they sign Luke Tuch.

One thing to add. He was always going to be a project and he was always going to be a shutdown type of D. It's early but seems like his development just followed the intended path and he's on the right track to achieve what the organization saw in him.

Keep dreaming.... You honestly believe Edmonton is going to trade 2 first round pick (unprotected) for ALLEN?

You are ignoring the fact that Xhekaj was in the offer? I am not necessarily endorsing the trade as Xhekaj is likely better than anything you will find with a late 1st rounder.

I'm hoping. Tuch can become part of the fix if he pans out. Looking at our current roster we need a couple of forwards to graduate the next two seasons.

I think as long as Anderson and Gallagher are imovable, there's actually little room in the forward corps:

Caufield Suzuki Roy
Newhook Dach Slaf
RHP Monahan Anderson
Gallagher Evans Ylonen
Heinema, Beck, Pez

That's with Dvo and Armia moved out.

Roy, Newhook, RHP, Evans, Ylonen are not guaranteed long term spots. And even if they are, they can still be traded.

Did you ignore the Unprotected part? Edmonton is in the bottom 6 right now and could still miss the playoff. Don't see how the GM is going to trade 2 unprotected first round. At best, I could see a top 10 protected first round pick.

I love Xhekaj. He bring some toughness to the club. At the same time, he has been injure multiple time. I hope he can stay healthy and have a long career.

Edmonton will almost certainly be a playoff team and very well could win a round or two like they did last season. Making such finite predictions at the 1/4 mark of the season is nothing short of preposterous.

Do you ever read your own comment? Saying Edmonton could miss the playoff after a horrible start is preposterous? Yet saying Edmonton would make the playoff and win a couple of round is not preposterous?

Get down from your high horse.

In this example you have three players graduating?
So already we've surpassed the two I suggested we need.
RHP Ylonen Evans and Pez are not core pieces either so if someone pushes them out they are gone.

Ah ok.

I do see Heineman, Beck, and Roy as NHLers, in addition to RHP and Ylonen.

So I think we have a lot of young forwards who will be NHLers. It's the quality of high end top six forwards, as in some of the best in the league, that I see less of. It sounds like we're on the same page.
