Great win for The Blues. I hope this gives them more confidence to keep playing hard, whether or not they can make The Playoffs. Great team game. I wish they could play like this a majority of their games.
Fowler, Bolduc, Toropchenko , Sundqvist, Binnington, Buchnevich, Faulk, Parayko, Kyrou, Leddy, Walker, ..Etc. Just about everyone played really well.

Well, that was a fun game to be at.

Horrible goalie interference call on goal 8 though. Brutal officiating.

Look what you did Robb!
I've always been a big fan of Schwartz, and am always glad to see him score (unless it's a game winner that beats The Blues or The Jets). I don't mind The Kraken getting 2 goals. I'll take a 7-2 win, ANY time! :hit:

I will make gdt to get us 3 wins in a row. It will pain me to hurt chuckie but maybe he will not play.

4 points out, 23 games to go...

That would be hilarious if we still make the playoffs after all the negativity among fans this season.

Amazing what competent special teams and your best players playing their best can do for a team. They really look like a completely different team and even Faulk and Buch look like their old selves again. All 19 guys contributed to this win.

We have Caps, Kings, Stars, and Kings before the trade deadline. Flames and Canucks both have 2 games in hand on us, Flames play 5 before deadline and Canucks 4.

Feels like if we go .500 in those 4 games, Army probably sells, but if we can some how get 6+ points, I could see Army allowing them to push for the playoffs. It's a brutal 4 games against playoff teams, so it's a good test to see if they are in playoff mode or if they are the team they've been all season.

I don't think we sell because I'm not sure if we have anyone to sell. We have 2 pending UFA. Suter and Faksa.

Faksa is playing good defense with tough deployment. But he has 10 points in 46 games, which would is pacing to finish the season at 15 points. Sure someone would like him as depth to plug in when you need D. But what's that worth? A 5th at best? More likely a 6th or 7th. If we have any shot at playoffs, why trade one of our few centers for a late round flyer

Suter is already being paid by 2 of the playoff team while playing for us. It's not because of his play. He wears out his welcome in the room and this us well known. Could some team take roll the dice he doesn't disrupt the room over 20 fames and playoffs, maybe. He is a solid 3LD. But I also wouldn't be surprised if teams took a lesser player with less potential drama.

The rest of our potential trade chips have term which makes it much more complicated. I could see a team taking Binner, but will they pay Army's price? I ask the same question about Schenn.

I think we stand pat. They'll say it was to let the team push for playoffs, but in reality, nobody met our price

But the other teams have games in hand. Basically 6-8 points out unless they lose them.

The Blues are playing their best hockey of the season IMO the past 2 games. If they play like they did against Colorado especially, they can do some damage. That was a dominating performance.

As a coach, this game was a treat to watch. Our weak side D activation on exits was awesome, our entry habits and middle lane drive/support was consistent all night, our OZ details and puck decisions were consistently smart and efficient, our F2 (low fwd in zone) was awesome all night, when we got into shooting areas or went low to high our F2 was consistently getting the goalies eyes, when we weren’t shooting and got pressured, our F2’s did a fantastic job of playing off the front post and getting body position to extend possession and change sides on cycles. We weren’t just playing ion the perimeter or getting stuck in the corners.

Our forecheck was ridiculous too, we did a great job outnumbering and our F2’s were extremely quick on their support and allowed us to win a ton of pucks. Top guys were buzzing, but the bottom 6 played fantastic

Complete buy in to playing Monty’s structure from every fwd on the team was a treat. And the results followed, hope we can keep this up.

Our DZ was extremely disciplined too, wingers did a great job holding the dot lines and fronting shots. Centers layering was consistent too.

I could’ve pulled multiple good habit clips to show youth hockey players from damn near every shift last night. Easily my fave game of the year.

The break was certainly good for the Blues. Binner is clearly riding a confidence high after the championship game and Parayko is continuing his great season after being part of Team Canada's victory. But the guys who had a couple weeks off look like the rest did wonders to get past whatever was nagging them. Buch has a goal, 4 assists, and is +5. Faulk has looked like his old self playing 21+ minutes a night in each game (with 3 assists). Sunny is skating at a near-NHL level. Leddy's played his best 3 games of the season. Neighbours has been effective as the passenger with Thomas/Buch. The special teams are clicking.

Very small sample and this team has repeatedly shown an inability to go on a streak. And having to play at Washington, vs LA, and at Dallas from Thursday-Sunday is a hell of a tough stretch. We need 3 more efforts like the 3 we just got if we're going to make this interesting.

Army loves his quote about how the players are the ones who tell the front office what to do at deadline with their play. This is the locker room's last chance to convince him to take some big names off the market (at least for now). I'm expecting to be let down like I was after the 2 Calgary wins, but I'm hoping to be surprised.
