My fear in that? It'll be Shero. Ex-Penguins, gotta catch 'em all!
I guess a blind squirrel can find a nut every once in a while, but I have no confidence that the decision makers that have hired Murray and Botterill will make a really good hire if they let Botts go now and they use the same sort of process to hire the next person.
Call Mark Hunter and ask him if he wants to repeatedly stick it back to Leafs for passing him over for Dubas.
FML if this ever happens
Maybe. Hunter's work has some holes based on scrutiny when it was the debate between Dubas and him as Lou's successor.
They've consistently dipped into that well and come up tarred repeatedly.

9. Meghan Chayka, co-founder, Stathletes, Inc. – In the last year, the analytics firm Stathletes has quietly continued to grow at an impressive rate, while consciously lowering their public profile. Part of the focus has been on scalability and that meant an increase in more league-centric deals, deals with agents and international deals.
“We wanted to diversify and continually improve,” the 34-year-old Meghan Chayka said. “Just to create a more sustainable business.”
Stathletes CEO and co-founder Neil Lane also deserves a spot on this list. He’s been a crucial part of the growth and success of the firm.
“He’s exceptional in operations,” Meghan Chayka said. “He’s a very strategic thinker and very good at executing ideas.”
I'd really like them to find a new well
Nobody with a resume won't have holes in it.
But, we've seen what two rookie GMs have done...
I still get back to needing a Prez of Hockey Ops to hire the next GM.
Gillis is a name that gets thrown around.
But, going after a player agent, like WNYer Steve Bartlett, might be interesting, too.
Hockey's Top 40 under 40: The coaches, executives, scouts...
Or, they could just go with the next gen pick for GM:

I want to know what is really going on that this political theatre scrpt is covering up..I'm listening to (delayed) impeachment trial at work.

Murray got fired for the same reason Botts should/will be
Sitting by allowing a potentially positive season to crumble away by not addressing the obvious hole in the team.
It was the D for Murray. Now it’s the forwards for Botts.
The fact the Bills have been improving of late is showing Pegs that winning is possible. You just need the right people.
Here’s hoping third time’s a charm.
If this report really is true. You need to make the move now. Allow the new GM to get a taste of the team now vs half of the 20-21 season. Plus he can be prepped right for the draft and offseason.
I'm still on the Tulsky train. Perhaps by myself. Which makes for a quieter ride, but still...
And Meghan would be an interesting choice. At least they'd likely be using current evaluation tools instead of whatever bull**** they've been doing recently. And the rivalry gets kicked into high gear with the Coyotes.
I'm not even saying you're wrong, I just dont know why you'd want to think about itIt's just a thought based on his past actions, and I'm sure there will be pressure to improve the team.
I'm not sold yet.I honestly see Krueger wanting a role in upper management. I’d like to keep him around this organization if Botts is let go that’s for sure.
I'm not sold yet.
He has "leadership qualities" but we've yet to see him manage something successfully on the performance side.
I'm still not sold on the VP of rowing or whatever you want to call it, in general.
Ultimately if they decide to hire that position, it is still left to the pegula's interpretation who they interview that has the "correct" mindset. What "process" the organization chooses to follow would just be whoever sells it the best, and there isnt a great way for them to parse through the BS.

And there it is...thought it would be sooner. Because yeah Jack wanted Housley for another year and Frolik and Sheary and Miller. This meme needs to die. I hardly think Jack wanted Vesey on this team. The one player who is carrying the load and people want to point the finger at him. I hope he loses his love for the game on locker cleanout day and Dahlin does too. Both deserve better.Im more concerned with him trading another 1st, or a player who is significantly better than he realizes (Pilut, Ruotsalainen)
The one thing I've taken from Bogo's surreal presence on the roster, is that Botterill will cow tow to Eichel, so I'm less worried about Reinhart being traded in that sense.
