This guy is superior to Chabby.

Give him the #1 role, the QB on PP#1. I actually think the bomb from the point will give the top PP more options than what Chabby brings.
This. Still waiting for DJ to make that change on PP1, should be Chychrun and G in for Chabot and Bath.

It just means that we have an awesome top 4, with two killer pairs now.

All we need is to solidify 5-7 and we are set on the back end.

We have two promising young goalies as well to go along with Forsy so that’s has some promise as well.

Bottom 6 now needs to flesh out. The Formy situation, and the return of Norris, will certainly help.

He reminds me a bit of Redden in his prime in terms of a strapping fellow who is easy on the eyes who is able to contribute offensively while playing decent defence.

His shot is better than Wade's.

What's funny about Chabot is that he's unable to play to his strengths with any kind of consistency.

Smooth effective puck mover in terms of passing the puck or carrying it out himself, dictating the pace of the game by managing the puck well and making calm, smart plays under pressure.

He's not much of a static player - he creates time and space for himself with his mobility to cause damage and break down opposing defences.

This is how he was WJC MVP and top defenceman, and for large swaths of his career early on.

At times it seems like he's more like Joe Corvo now than like Erik Karlsson.

I think Chychrun is not just decent but really, really good defensively

Agreed. We need another solid defender back there.

Gudas/Mayfield/Soucy

2 of em if we want to make serious noise (with DeBrincat not returning).

Nah. We can keep Hamonic, I'm sure and Brannstrom is more than adequate for the 5 role. Then we have Klevin coming in another year ish.

I'd keep things status quo and look at the third line next year. Although, I think having Norris healthy and Pinto down to 3C with Greig and Joseph makes it a lot better.

I'll need to watch a few more games before I know for sure. His offensive contributions are more readily apparent.
I wonder how much of it is Chychrun's deployment.

He's been a top Pair Dman playing on the "third" pair, and gotten a time of his time with the top line. Is he perhaps getting some favourable matchups?

I think we're going to be really tough to match up against next year when Norris is back and hopefully Greig is added, rolling 3 pairs and 3 lines makes us a nightmare to play.

Ugh, I appear to be in the minority, but IMO Hamonic seems to make more mistakes than anyone not named Chabot these days.

He's a disaster in his own zone, but he does have a bit of offensive pop. If Brannstrom could actually put up some points it would make Hamonic less important.

Yeah we need to move on from Hamonic, dude gets stuck in his zone more than anyone else on the roster. Even Holden is better than him.

We don't have that long, Chyc is only signed for 2 more years after this one. Sign another steady D this summer or trade for one at the draft.

I don't think G is going to be as good in the high slot roll as Batherson. Better to keep G on PP2 and have two good units.

I love his skating. He's so aggressive when moving around out there and isn't just wildly charging around like a bull in a china shop. He's tenacious on the puck and with it. Absolute baller
