Did he say that to you?

I want to see more of both JBD and LT. JBD has shown little to no offensive ability and LT did show some. Hopefully one of them will be good enough to become a #5, 6 or 7D for us at a low salary.
I don't think the hockey IQ is high for JBD or LT. 6 or 7th D-Man buy maybe their really value will be as trade bait!

The initial asking price was too high for me. I was surprised we got him for what we did. I am so over losing the 1st rd pick this year. He is going to fit in here really well. Thanks for stopping in.
I agree and am happy we got him for the 1st and 2 seconds.

Hopefully we do not give up the 2023 first IF we do not make the playoffs. :)

This and I think it’s mostly because of his injury history too. Hope he stays healthy with us.

That's a big part of it (for me, anyways). Feels like we've been burnt a few times on big trades where we get a guy who is either damaged goods and falls off a cliff, or just falls off a cliff for no reason.

Still worried about that first round pick....but having top 5 protection takes most of the sting out.

I'm actually kind of surprised at the intrepidation. This is an incredible deal

The Bobby Ryan and Matt Duchene disappointments are still fresh in my mind. Sens have the luck of the Irish with a lot of these kinds of big trades.

I'm hoping for a better outcome this time....but still worried.

Like personality wise?

Play wise I Honeslty get it. Jbd looked amazing at the first rookie camp he was part of. And then…. Eh. His style of play you need to be one of rangy, physical, or quick. He’s none of those things.
and offers exactly zero offense. I wonder if they were counting ona. Growth spurt or something.

His play as far as I know. Don’t think it’s a personality thing

Well this is juicy, wonder if it's performance or attitude based

Have fun following that I guess. Already made clear my stance on it. Chych has devastating injury history. If he only suits up half the time in those two years, would one still feel that way? Especially if we draft gems with those picks. How about if we win the lottery and pick 6? Too many variables I don’t care to argue about. Personally I care about Chych that’s all, and if he’s happy and healthy that’s all that matters. Just glad he didn’t go to LA. My desire to fleece a team that I actually like isn’t strong at all. It’s about what I expected. Some had a stronger desire for more, but that just typical HF greediness. Good luck with the push.
We like the trade, you like the trade, that’s all that matters. Ignore the rest of the noise. :)

I dunno man, even if Chychrun only plays 82 games across 2 seasons, we've needed a top 4 defender so bad that it'll be worth it to me. Plus him being in the line up pushes everyone else down and lets us develop bottom pairing guys into players that might be able to step into the top 4

Is that the fastest and most accurate wrist shot we've ever had on this team? I must have re-played the goal 30 times and it gets more impressive each viewing.

We have gotten so used to getting screwed on trades that we're desperate for any perceived win lol.

People acting like we gave up nothing are out to lunch. It's a mid-to-high first rounder in an absolutely stacked draft. The price made sense for our team but to act like we "fleeced" the Coyotes is a bit much.

Hopefully Chych can stay healthy but it's a major concern. If he misses significant team while he's here this trade could turn ugly for the Sens.

I understand that this is Arizona's best case scenario (outside of an unprotected 2024 and the Sens having a terrible year next year), but isn't the likelihood of this happening minuscule? If I'm understanding the lottery rules correctly, the Sens would have to finish exactly in the 16th slot and then also win the lottery with 0.5% odds.

ChatGPT with the facts on Jakob Chychrun:

"Jakob Chychrun is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on March 31, 1998, in Boca Raton, Florida, but grew up in Canada.

Chychrun was selected 16th overall by the Coyotes in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut for the Coyotes on October 15, 2016, and has since become a key player on the team's blue line. Chychrun is known for his size, physicality, and offensive skill, and he has earned praise for his ability to play a mature and responsible game despite his young age."

[...informs ChatGPT it's full of nonsense...]

"I apologize for the error in my previous response. As a language model, my responses are based on the information I have been trained on, but I can still make mistakes.

To correct my earlier response, Jakob Chychrun is currently playing for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was traded to the Canucks by the Arizona Coyotes in July 2021.

Chychrun is a highly skilled defenseman known for his offensive ability, strong skating, and physicality. He was selected by the Coyotes in the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut in 2016. He has represented Canada at the international level, including at the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championships."

I, for one, do not welcome our unashamedly bullshitty AI overlords. LOL

Chychrun could be an excellent partner for Sanderson long term, both have good size, both are mobile & both get the pucks to the net & Chychrun has a cannon of a shot.

Happy we got him but with him in the 3rd pairing is this really the move we needed?
