He's playing the best hockey of his career. He just isn't scoring. Does that make sense?
Yes it does, there is more to the game than just scoring, but if you don't score you don't win, but as I read most of the posts I must say I feel the fans are pulling for this kid, I know there will always be a jerk or two. I think from what I can see he is a good kid and likeable so lets hope things are going to happen in the positive for him and the team. Haha fans also.

He's looked like a different player this year with the backchecking, attention to detail, workrate, etc. Not scoring (maybe the dam broke last night) but if focus on playing great hockey comes at the expense of some goal production, it's a good tradeoff (and it makes him cheaper to re-sign )

We need way more from DeBrusk. We're running Morgan Geekie and Trent Frederic in in the top 6. DeBrusk should be one of the guys driving the offense, but he's playing like a complementary player. Played over 18 minutes last night. No excuses.

Thought he played very well last.

Meanwhile, Frederic was useless.

Looks to me like his confidence is starting to wane - not moving his feet nearly as well as he was earlier in the season and now the points have dried up again.

He's a nice complimentary player, but has never been able to drive a line. Defense has improved, but the offensive inconsistency continues to be a problem. Personally, I think it's time for Boston to make a "shake-up" type trade, and he can headline that deal.

dude just needs to keep playing. the points will come. sitting him would be an awful decision. Outside of his 4 goal outburst last week Marchand has been much worse this year.

I really think Debrusk needs to keep playing with Pasta, even when Zacha is healthy. Monty needs to cool it with the blender and let JDB/Zacha/Pasta find some chemistry.

I have always liked this kid, but even felt at one point maybe it was time he went somewhere else for the team and him also. I know now there is talk he is that he is the guy that could be on the move and I think it is understood , but it is too bad he is playing some good all around hockey right now, but he needs to put up some points . I have only seen videos and interviews with him, but I tell you he seems like a nice kid, the type that you want on your team.

We are at the 1/3 of the season mark and he’s on pace for 12 goals and 33 points while playing in the top 6 and 1:30 of PP time per game.

That’s abysmal.

Sure he’s been good defensively, but you can find a 3rd or 4th line guy to do what he does on the PK for chump change.

We already have Trent Frederic doing that exact same thing for 2 mil on the lines below Jake

If this is the 'new' Jake where he is a 30-35 point third line PJ Axelsson type guy, then good, and I hope the Bruins can resign him at a term and AAV commensurate with that skill set. He's helping the team not hurting it for the most part, unlike his past stretches of no points where he was bringing almost nothing.

he's not as bad as the stats say this year, and he wasn't as good as the numbers he put up while playing with marchand and bergeron. the one thing he does bring is speed, and this team is already slow. so if he goes, you'd have to find another guy who can skate and play in the top 6. not the easiest thing to do (but i don't blame anyone for not wanting to give this guy $6M long term).

I think we'll find out more if he has consistent linemates. Monty need to stick him on one line and see if they gel. Enough of the shuffle

He's missing the IT factor he had in his first two seasons. He's going to eventually score, and I think he's better suited on a line that plays more north-south that attacks the net. It feels like the Bruins under Montgomery have moved away from that a bit.

No I’m a big Jake fan but disagree he played well in both ends of the rink last season,he killed penalties last season, but he scored more consistently, they need more goals from him.
