If anyone is looking for an excuse to test out the VGK emoji…

You and me both, but if he’s wearing a boot like some say, it’s likely a hairline bone fracture, and they don’t want any movement.

I’d say, for sure he doesn’t return for the St. Louis series, buy maybe sometime later in Round 2, if we’re lucky. Maybe not til round 3, if we make it that far.

I’d love to be surprised, and see him in the lineup for Round 2.
Agreed, I think Jets are gonna have to make it to the Conference Finals to get him back

Regarding adjustments...

Yeah we changed deployment late and rode the top 4 defending a lead in the playoffs..... that's pretty normal I find....I think EVERY coach would do that if able.. especially with the pairings we have in our top 4...

To my mind ...it all goes back to the season.

Jets pretty much showed they can win any game against any team with the horses they dress. Next man up, Play the system. Dallas, Vegas, Avs, Oilers..... our roster, as is has SHOWN we can beat every team out there... (I know LA swept us this year, but we can and have beaten them) just PLAY THE SYSTEM....

Again Stanley played almost every game he was healthy for...I think there was what 1 or two games he was a healthy scratch...and Arneil stated it was about "getting Black Ace guys IN to games" as opposed to "taking guys out of the lineup".

and ...Sure Arneil makes changes...but to my eye it's this year there has been a lot less " adversity encountered!!!!!!! Line Blender!!!!!, bench this guy call up that guy"..... type changes, and a lot more more subtle changes to position, coverages, deployment, and matchups.

last year many agree Bones made to much change in the Avs series.... choosing to let the opponent decide who and how the Jets played... I think if he just let the Jets play the roster and style that got them to the dance? We might have been better in that series...

Stanley Changed game 2 and maybe the series with that hit. Kyrou was playing VERY well in games 1 and 2 until then....after that hit...the wind went out of St Louis, and they never seemed to catch it again.... I don't care about a potential scoring chance that never actually was a goal because he ELIMINATED one of the biggest threats the Blues had in game 1 and 2 ... and that was worth a bit of D zone defending....

So no. I don't see Lineup changes as automatic based on what team we face.or how fast they are..... and maybe that's OK?

I never said anything about "automatic" lineup changes. I just suggested that MAYBE we will find that the combination of Stan and Schenn will not work as well against a faster team as it has against StL. Something we will need to wait and see about. IF that is the way it turns out some adjustment MAY be necessary.

Many here did not want to see those 2 together, me included, because of their lack of quickness. Many here were surprised in game 1 when it worked so well. Less surprising is that it then continued to work so well. But the possibility remains that it won't be so effective against a faster team. Personally, I hope it will continue to work well. I'm enjoying watching them. But IF Arny decides to go a different direction in the next series I will not be unhappy with the move.

Agreed

I absolutely loved the hit but he did take himself out of position and yea it did lead to a scoring chance against. Even though it brought back memories of Buff, and I based on how the Blues are playing this series it was a statement play. I think his hit on Thomas was more the type of hit I would like to see him use. Less distance travelled and more controlled.

Either way, really nice to see Stan add the element of physicality.

It seems to me that Blues chose to try and win physically. Jets are simply responding, and outdoing them at it. So yes, a statement, or statements.

I assume that Blues coaching saw it as their best chance to win knowing they can't win a pure skill matchup.

For what it's worth they did seem to "figure it out" in game 2.
Yes St Louis got the first PP goal (a miracle heart breaker after a good near kill).
The rest of the game they really didn't get much of a sniff.
Taking Stanley off the PK was a good move.
Using Josh sparingly there helps as well.

Now for the PP it had cooled off significantly before the injuries to our big two so it will be interesting to see if they can re-discover some of that magic.
The first half of the season our PP was so lethal and that was one of the biggest differences between us and everyother team.
27 and 13 allow us to reload that 2nd PP with 09 and 91.
That gives is a 1-2 punch that was so effective earlier.
When you see Barron and Appleton out on PP2 for 30 seconds you realize that the Jets have taken a hit here, not just those two guys on the PP but the replacements too in Chibrikov and Lambert not available.

Hopefully Tanev is good to go. I think that was a great acquisition for the PK. St. Louis doesn't have the big shots on the PP, it's puck movement, and the Jets I think will adapt over the series on the PK.

I think the Jets just have to be patient and let their speed cave the St. Louis defense this series.

Interesting ... viewership is down on NHL playoffs.
After reading the comments most of the people hate ESPN is the reason why.
Will this effect the salary cap?

effect of Canadian Teams being in..

ESPN is still under contract.as is I believe TNT for national rights...and both are until the end of the 25/26 season IIRC.

The contract is the contract the revenues are the revenues...can't really see the cap being affected until the next contract is worked out. where..if tv ratings and viewership are still trending down? then maybe...but thats a couple ears down the road.

Does Kupari knock JAD out of his spot?
I'm not sure that he would.
Given the reoccurence of a setback after Kuopari's last game it may be wise to give him more time before trying to use him.
Does Scotty change a winning lineup? We'll find out if he is superstitious.

In a hard hitting series I think he sticks with the guys who can take hits. And throw them. The 4th line is 1-1 so far. Kupari for faceoffs is the one thing I think coach would consider, especially on the road.

Probably also an effect of big American markets like Boston and NYR not being in. Those are huge fanbases

And just like that the shity team emoji's are gone....

Nice ... now make the shitty refs disappear.

Interesting facts heading to St. Louis for game 3 ...
St. Louis hasn’t lost at home since a 4-3 shootout defeat against Winnipeg on Feb. 22, its first game after the 4 Nations Face-off break.
St. Louis has only scored one 5v5 goal.
