Shitbag move? Trouba sucks. He hurts the team on the ice. He won't waive for a trade. He is a bit of a dick himself.
Its not like he hasnt played hardball with managment before. Winnipeg got weery of it and shipped him out eventually.

Then again. We aint in the room and he aint the only one with clauses and a bad attitude, poor body language.

Ive made the comment before about the Captain that doesnt Captain. But, hes visibly tried before, on ice. Maybe hes just out numbered in the room and getting the same treatment Quinn, Turk, and now Lavy are getting from the other veteran malcontents.

Dallas makes sense. Columbus sure is a lot closer though. Kind of ballsy for Drury to do this but I like it. Get this guy the f*** out of the org already.
Columbus also has one of the top Medical Centers in the entire country. Its not a bad spot for the Trouba Family to land.

i could see a deal with nyi with bad money being sent back to nyr

Trouba has a 15-team no-trade list... which means there are 16 teams that he can currently be traded to without his consent.

Given that the apparent "issue" for Trouba is his wife not wanting / being able to leave NY due to some very obscure medical residency, it would seem highly unlikely that Trouba would "waste" one of his NTC spots on the New York Islanders or New Jersey Devils -- given that a trade to either team would not really require him to move.... just deal with a crappy commute.

Even Philly, I might imagine that they would not be on his No-Trade list. You could presumably move to some suburb between the two, and pay a driver for the next few months.

Hes extremely overpaid but he gets way too much hate for being a “bad captain”. As if anyone here has been in the rangers dressing room and knows how to evaluate nhl leadership.

The 15 team no-trade list covers all the teams with cap space, right?

Jackets fan who hasn't watched a minute of Trouba. Could this be something where New York is paying the Jackets to offload cap (i.e. pick) or does Trouba still have miles on his tires and could improve out of what seems to be a toxic situation from the outside?

This Nelson?

It seems that the Rangers’ gambit is that waiving him takes the choice of destination out of Trouba’s hands, and a team like San Jose or Columbus could take him even if they’re on his NTC.

Montreal would make a lot of sense because we do need to shore up the right side. For sure the cap hit is high, but it's only for one more year, and we do have a lot of cap coming off the books at the end of the year, though Slaf's contract kicks in.

I don't think we can take on the full salary without moving someone, but I think we'd just need to move someone like Armia and not one of the higher salaries like Gally or Dvorak.

As long as the cost isn't high, or free better yet, they should do it IF Gorton/Hughes feel he's a good fit and obviously Trouba would want to play here.

As a Sharks fan, I’d be interested in him off waivers during the offseason. We’ll need a Ceci replacement as a physical RHD and can afford his cap. Also feels like a guy who’d get a good asset next deadline.

Less keen on him this year though, in part because I can’t imagine he’d be happy being away from his wife as she’s finishes her residency, particularly for a non-playoff team.

NYR treat their players like crap.

Idk why it's still such a UFA destination when it also has ungodly taxes.
