Speculation: Jacob Trouba traded or waived?

Has Trouba been that bad this year? I understand trading is hard but just to outright waive him?

Its not a him thing, we've been dealing with our GMs giving everyone and anyone the power of these clauses on top of nearly immovable term/dollars, ever since the cap was implemented.

Its getting frustrating after almost 20 years. Apparently the Rangers give the players the best of the best, refered to some as a County Club atmosphere. And it gets taken advantage of, players get conformable and leverage their clauses to chase out mangmanet that tries to hold them accountable when they slip.

Its a culture issue from the top down. I almost envy the teams that dont have bottomless pockets.

He's overpaid, but not that bad.

The Rangers wanted to trade him in the offseason, but couldn't.

Now, the team just sucks. They beat the Habs, but needed a lot of calls to go their way.

Rangers need a shakeup.

Apparently Trouba said some shit in the off-season, too, but I'm not sure what was said.
 
Waiting for that moment when this board realizes that KAM is every bit as bad as Trouba when they can't blame it all on Trouba anymore.

I don't know enough about the situation, but looking at that board of who has space. Utah has space and needs a D. Maybe they even retain and trade him at the TDL? San Jose could do the same I suppose.

It he ends up righting the ship a bit and becomes a top four dman with snarl that might ha e value at the TDL, if he is 50% retained he would age even more value. Might not be a bad move for a team with space.
 
I have a feeling Vancouver, St.Louis or Philly could be in on this

More on potential. Gorton banked on him because he was young and big and had a big shot and there was room for growth.

Fast forward a few years and he was absolutely taken to the woodshed by giving up Pionk AND a first round pick.

Ryan Lindgren has also been absolute ass this season.

Heck, I'd argue that the only D-man on the Rangers who is doing his job properly is Adam Fox.

And there's no shame in being a bottom pair either....it is what it is.
 
Dallas makes sense. Columbus sure is a lot closer though. Kind of ballsy for Drury to do this but I like it. Get this guy the f*** out of the org already.
