Jack Quinn cuts that puck off and takes it wide, bringing it backwards, yes.

The league altered the rule - as long as the player keeps moving forward himself...

I think the rule should allow this goal, but it probably doesn't.

LETS GO AMERKS

I think the rule needs to clearly define 'stickhandling' which it does not.
A shooter can advance the puck while he is deking, switching feet, and even himself going backward.
Both the shooter and the puck may not retreat, that's about all I know for sure.
Once the shooter is moving laterally, the rules about stickhandling and forward motion (player or puck)
is ambiguous and is a time bomb figuring go off at some certain point in a key game.

What does everyone think ? Does he start next year with the big club ? Or do they leave him down for some more seasoning ?

He doesn't need more time. He's ready. Peterka is very, very close too.
Makes sense why KA and DG are basically saying there won't be many additions in the off-season to the roster...Think they got a majority of the players in place now they just have to let them play and develop...keeping the cap hit low will be a big plus going forward too

Only thing they need to throw money at this off season is the goalie situation.

Who wants to see Peterka/Cozens/Quinn line?
This has come up before and unless they think that Cozens could be the defensive consciousness of that line, I don't see it outside of a "fun" line that plays high event hockey and is not great in their own end.

I would rather not have JJP & Quinn on the same line together and have something like Quinn-Cozens-Okposo or Peterka-Cozens-Girgensons or the like.

You're downplaying Quinn's defensive acumen. He's better than Cozen's in the defensive zone.

Yeah, I like that idea of giving the youngins some sandpaper on their lines.

Have Asplund anchor the "fourth" line. Assuming Hino re-signs, Peterka could start in Rochester but we'll see.

Quinn is obviously a lock for Buffalo.

Where does Mitts fit in (assuming he's also still here)? With Asplund? Skinner-Tage-Tuch are the top line.
