Lol we really gotta make drama even when things go well, huh?

These dudes are lighting up the Ahl and they actually have something to play for, why would they be mad? They know they’ll be up next year. They get a chance to be all-stars, refine the little things, and gain playoff experience. Why the f*** would 12 minutes of ice on a non-playoff team be better? Slight bit of experience at the higher level, sure, but they’ll get 82 games of that next year. Even an absolute Botterill could explain that to them were they actually frustrated at all, what a weird concern.
It's not "we" who are making drama. It's one poster who made up a ridiculous post that shouldn't be on the boards at all. There's less than zero basis and the discussion of its validity shouldn't even be happening. THIS is why those types of posts should be mod-deleted. Without a source, it's just flaming players who don't deserve it(unlike Eichel).

And not for nothing, but Cozens has outshined the guy he was most often compared to in his draft year - Kirby Dach. Dach's taken steps back, somewhat because of injury, but certainly he hasn't been the player he was 3 years ago. In the meantime, Cozens has taken definite strides as a 2-way force. I still see a player reminiscent of Trevor Linden who is just going to control play at both ends of the ice. And of course his history with Quinn within Hockey Canada is also kind of fascinating. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Quinn slots in with the Krebs-Cozens duo if they continue to use that pair (who also have Nats history). Quinn as the high-end finisher there would be really interesting.
if these guys all reach their potential or even close to it, that would be a hell of a line

This kid is scoring at 1.5 PPG in AHL. When is the last time we've had someone score at that pace as a rookie in AHL?
Closest I can think of is Stafford in 06-07, but I checked and he was like 1.3 PPG. you had guys like Pommer and Roy who did it in very small samples the year before but they weren't rookies. 05-06 they had already played in the AHL a couple of years and Pommer was like 1.45 PPG and Roy was 2.5 PPG but Pommer only played 18 games and Roy played 8. Plus Roy was 22 that year, Pommer was 23, and Stafford was 21.

Is Quinn the #1 rated prospect not in the NHL with stats like these at age 20?

He actually deserves some consideration for that spot. But I don’t think anyone has him in the top 5. Power is one of the non-consensus top drafted prospects not playing in the NHL

Sounds like Kirby needs a Granato in his life.

I was going to say…the bad news is no…but don’t go anywhere because you’re going to want to hear the good news

The interesting conversation with Quinn is whether he is the best forward prospect outside of the NHL.

I think there are other players that are in the conversation. But, Quinn's season in the AHL has to have him in the conversation as one of the best forward prospects outside of the NHL.

Sounds like he started pretty young, just didn't specialize until later than most
Not sure if I read it here or somewhere else but it was an article about how kids turn out better at their chosen sport when they don't specialize early on. I'm too lazy to dig it up so take it for what it's worth

It's been posted here. @Jim Bob may still have the link.

Googling long term athlete development (LTAD) or late specialization of sport and you will get a ton of stuff on the topic.

LTAD is a core principle behind a lot of the stuff that USA Hockey is doing with the American Development Model (ADM).

Speaking of which, this was a really good interview:
