Maybe JJ-Cozens/Krebs-Quinn could be a 3rd line comparable to Vanek-Roy-Afinogenov? They weren't great defensively at first glance, but they were such a mismatch for other 3rd lines they didn't need to be. Also allows them to keep Asplund-Mitts-VO together.
That makes sense. Defense in Granato's system is focused on puck possession. It isn't about taking the puck away from the other team. It's about making them take it away from you.

What's up with Quinn? Haven't been able to watch any games in the playoffs but 2 points in 6 games is unusual for him. Hope he can turn it around and end this amazing season on a good note.

Unknown. An injury, the consequences of an illness, or the game just doesn’t go on, maybe something happened in life, it could be anything.

Last night's game is the only one I've watched but I read a writeup of another one that said Utica is tailoring their entire defensive strategy around stopping him, which means he skates against the top defensive pair as well as the best defensive forward line every time he hits the ice.

Belleville went out of their way to target him too.

Last night, he had three or four good to great looks which is more than just about every other game combined. He may be finding a way to get inside and around the checking. It may also be that the Comets are focusing a bit more on Peterka or Ruotsalainen right now. Seeing him get some quality shots and coming close is a step in the right direction - he had a couple games where nothing notable happened for him. Hopefully, Game Five has him dialed in and finishing.

Maybe so much attention being placed on Quinn by the other teams is freeing up ice for JJ and R2.

Yep either way its good for quinn to learn and adapt now for development purposes gives him an idea on how to be creative with limited space

Good! He’s going to have to get used to this and find a way to work around this kind of stuff if he’s going to be a star at the NHL level. Why not start now? :)

I will say this about Quinn - I have no doubt that he's going to attack the summer in an effort to improve in a way that is going to be fearsome. He's shown that he takes this seriously and it may actually be fuel that drives him into next season that could be truly impressive.
The playoff struggles are a blessing in disguise for someone like him. You want him going into the offseason with a chip on his shoulder.

In that regard, I almost wish Power strugggled a bit more lol. The kid had it too easy!

And while the struggles were there, we saw how Quinn was getting opportunities after about his third playoff game and things just weren't going in. I'll take a skill player getting to dangerous areas and going through a stretch where the puck doesn't go in vs. stretches where the player is not noticeable at all. Getting chances and not scoring is way, way better than not getting any chances (and by proxy, not scoring). And Quinn was getting his looks, especially last night.

I was impressed with his physicality throughout. Again, it seems better to have someone they need to reign in and direct his energy than someone who needs to be motivated to apply his gifts. Quinn very much was wrapped up into some of the physical play - him adding in effective reverse hitting is going to get him so much more space going forward and I am here for it.

Not worried about Quinn. Like others are saying, I'm glad it got tough for him so he can learn from it. At times, the league looked too easy for him. He'll be better prepared to contribute in the NHL next year for it.

I'm also guessing he hit a bit of a wall - he's never played a season this long and certainly not at this level. He You see it in 1st year pros all the time. He'll grow out of that.
