The team physician is selected by the team and paid by the team. If you're truly a lawyer, you know that presents an inherent conflict of interest - one that would not be permitted in most places (without an informed waiver) if we were talking about a lawyer rather than a doctor.

And to be blunt, the team doctor hired by the team has every incentive and motivation to make the company that hired him happy - particularly when the doctor has been (or is) the team doctor for an extended term (which is the case here). I believe the doctors in this case long time doctors for the team (and the bills too?). You don't think they have financial and other allegiances to the team?

not true.

the team physician is a licensed independent doctor who sees other patients.

the team can have their own team doctor who is more likely a general medicine doctor or a nurse practitioner but they don’t treat major injuries. The team also has employed people like nutritionists and physical therapy personnel.

it violates medical ethics codes for them to do a team thing and toe a line.

Unlike lawyers, medical doctors actually have ethics and can have license suspended for these violations.

Let's briefly humor your conspiracy theory and just assume that the Sabres medical staff aren't exercising medical judgment but just blocking Jack from getting ADR because they're biased. If ADR is assuredly safe/the best course of treatment, what on earth is the Sabres' motivation for creating an issue like this between the franchise and its franchise superstar center? Why would the Sabres want to alienate the best player they've had since Hasek? Do you see how completely insane that sounds???
They never will. The reason ADR has never been performed on an NHL player despite it providing (supposedly) more mobility, a shorter recovery time, and fewer complications is because evil ownership who want players to be in pain and much worse hockey players for…reasons?

Nothing at all to do with the majority of spinal surgeons who think an artificial disc creates a greater likelihood of catastrophic failure in contact sports like hockey.

Probably asked already, but what are the needs of Buffalo Sabres? What do you want for Eichel? Picks/prospects or roster players?

Any need for top4 defenseman?

you can’t factor in IR pay in that.

if Mitts snd Koki healthy and Murray and Wolsnin off the roster they are around $64.5. The cap floor is around $61.5M.
Cap floor is $60.2.
Sabres (-1.5) are at 64.25
Jack’s hit is 10.
64.25-10=54.25
60.2-54.25=5.95

How do you know?

Because the names out there aren't anything close to that package, unless I missed something. Most of the rumored names from the summer - Smith, Krebs, Hague + 1st are still being reported by Friedman.

I don't think Vegas would move Smith with all their injuries on the wing. He should be kept as an own rental.

I don't think Friedman has any idea who's involved in this. Dude just throws darts.

Coronato is pretty dynamic, Zary is a big C, and Pelletier made a WJ team.

Honestly, they can have all of them, plus one of Dube or Mangiapane, plus this year’s 1st.

Is that enough to overcome the legend of Peyton Krebs?

I don’t see how it’s acceptable to hand Jack Eichel to your division rival (in a division that already has McDrai) because you weren’t willing to pay an extra future or two.
I think the only issue is whatever Calgary trades him, they will be without for months while he heals. So any roster player they move out will hurt the team in the now until Eichel is back.

Talent. We need talent. Preferably at center or RHD. We've got a stable of talented LHD coming (or here, in the case of Dahlin). We need young talent at center and RHD but wouldn't turn our nose up at a RW or LW either. Or another goalie to throw into the mix. Preferably 25 and under.

What would a trade with Newhook as the main piece look like?
We'd need to take back Compher+Kadri (or something financially equivalent) to reach the salary floor.

Newhook+Compher+Kadri+a 1st maybe? I kinda hate it but I haven't really looked closely at Colorado through this process.

That’s honestly a lot cheaper than I was expecting, I was prepared to give up Girard, Newhook and Compher.

I mean Eichel would be the option at 2C…
Well ya ideally he returns this year and up to his lvl of play… but no guarantee, seems risky but I guess the avs have Mack, rantanan and landy to do the heavy lifting until then

Will fix everything
The idea that Buffalo HAS to take back cap space is because of the cap floor is silly . There are plenty of LTIR and cap dumps available league wide Adams could get paid to take on. I'm sure Chicago would pay Buffalo to take Connolly off their hands.

We need to take cap back because most teams don't have 10M in space (or close to that). If a team like Anaheim only sends back 4-5M in cap, getting the rest is a trivial exercise.

We're pretty loaded with young D (Dahlin, Jokiharju, Power, Johnson, Samuelsson, Laaksonen, Bryson). There might be room for another righty in there, but forwards, centers especially, are a far greater need. Young roster players or good prospects are obviously ideal.
