All-around impact right-handed shot dman who plays the right side is an important target for this team at this time.
Pushes Myers and Hamonic down the lineup and it creates more pairing options for the likes of Ekman-Larsson/Hughes/eventually Rathbone (who I believe is down in Abbotsford only temporarily this season)

he’s still the wrong target, we need someone to pair Hughes with for the long term and Dumba is t that player.

Fiala and Greenway are nice pieces but it doesn’t solve the Canucks major issue of defensive ineptitude.

Miller is the Canucks best asset and he should only be dealt to shore up the Canucks greatest weakness.

What can Minny offer for right d men?

Someone mentioned Johansson, who's kind of a black sheep in the prospect pool but has put together some okay seasons with Frolunda. His upside has been described as "right shot Adam Larsson," which is pretty boring but along the lines of what Canucks fans seem to want... there's just no telling whether he'll ever hit that.

They don't really have the RD depth to trade away someone from the roster right now. Dumba would be the main candidate there, but I'd be surprised if they were ready to plug Addison into his spot.

Their right side is dumba, goligoski, spurgeon, addison. Spurgeon is 31, their Captain and he just got injured. Goligoski is 36. That leaves Dumba(27) or Addison(21) as the only 2 appealing to Canucks.

My guess is that Minny would also look be looking to dump cap or at least have equal cash go out for their future books, which is probably why Fiala came up due to his expected cost.

Canucks could take on Zucc instead + prospect and kicker due to contract

Zuccarello isn't a cap dump. He literally drives the offense, and has been a better player since being injury free, and finally having surgery.

yes he has rebounded. but look at the cap problems coming up for minny. then consider his age and nmc. its better for them to get rid of him than fiala for the long term, or both

They can cross that bridge if and when they come to it. As it stands Zuccarello has a full NMC and is joined at the hip to the best offensive player Minnesota's had in years. They're not going to trade him.

Miller is playing at a point per game this season and his time in Vancouver is at 0.97 PPG and had a 72 point season in a short year with the Nucks.

Why again does Vancouver want to trade him?

He’s too intense we prefer players who don’t care about winning as much as he does

Why in the world would we need another winger, it's the one thing we already have in spades (Pearson, Boeser, Hoglander, Podkolzin, sometimes Pete). We are in dire need of Cs and RHDs.

JT Miller since coming to Van:

Regular season: 141gp 49g 88a 137pts (.97 ppg)

Playoffs: 17gp 6g 12a 18pts (1.06 ppg)

Per 82 you’re getting a guy who has averaged:

28g 51a 79pts 151 hits 56 FO% 20:38 TOI

He plays PP1, PK1, our top line at ES, and plays all 3 forward positions.

How many other forwards in the league have been as good as him the last 3 seasons while providing his level of versatility? He’s a power forward who kills penalties, is one of the best faceoff guys in the NHL, and plays an in your face game that few other players in the NHL do. My guess is if he’s available nearly every GM for a contending team is interested. Power forwards like Miller are so rare in todays NHL and we know for a fact that GMs will overpay for big, skilled, physical forwards.

You might want to check that Minnesota has that in Marcus foligno, Jordan greenway, and Brandon duhaime. So if your example is being big, getting up in opponent face and fighting, then Minnesota wouldn't want him because of that

Who makes this stuff up. Canucks need top4 dmen, not another sub 6 foot forward that has never produced more than 55 points.

If that was your take away from that post, its probably best if you show yourself out. That is a brutal take for the post you replied to. Unless your point was that over the past 3 seasons Miller has single handedly out produced those 3 players combined and he does the other things they do to - then its an acceptable take.

Unbelievable that Benning will likely trade Miller without recouping a 1st.

Trading for Fiala plus a washed up prospect is such a Benning thing to do.

Guy who was drafted 26th OA last year is somehow now worth a lottery pick? Ok then... and starts at, wow someone is overvaluing....
draft position is the only value we care about? if thats the case millers ppg pace is meaningless right? miller was drafted 15th, fiala 11th so miller + for fiala. i like it.

Sooooo Miller isn't a prospect that hasn't proven anything at an NHL level, soooo that comparison is, well, wrong and baseless.
