Confirmed with Link: Ivan Provorov traded to CBJ (via LA) - 1st, 2 2nds, Petersen, Walker, Grans to Philly

Still havent traded Hart or Hayes and got the extra first and second that was desperately needed this draft. Imagine getting a 3rd first somehow.

How many concussions have been had on this Forum from the knee jerk reactions to this trade? I like the looks of this deal so far. Let's see what Hart gets.

Looks like one happened making this post. :sarcasm:

This trade is getting better by the minute. A 2nd rounder from both LA and Columbus...
Maybe the official details will make me feel better but I'm not sure they got enough from taking the Peterson contract. Kassian was 2x3.2 and got a first round pick swap and a future 2nd and 3rd. Is pick 54 for Peterson's contract (if the pick is actually this year) worth it if you don't think much of Grans?

The Walker and Provorov cap retention wash I think, but the Flyers pick up a contract.

Briere has really answered a bunch of questions people had about separating him from Chuck. At least today.

- Term on contract did not depreciate leverage. It turns out having good relationships doesn't mean the entire league has you by the balls with visegrips

- Maximize return by taking on salary. Sean Walker, with a good and healthy season, can return more value at the trade deadline.

- Creatively extracting value. We may have to pay Cal Petersen for 2 years, but maybe he can return to being at least serviceable with a new start

- Make the actual roster younger. I don't know if Helge Grans is good, but he's only 21, and I guess we'll get to find out, and it won't take 3 or 4 years to do it.

Stupid you can't see the full list in that picture...

Apparently the only 2023 pick is the LA Kings 1st (#22 overall)

The 2nd rounders are Kings 2024 and CBJ conditional 2nd in 2024 or 2025. Not sure how reliable, but saw something indicating that CBJ would decide whether they want to convey their 2024 2nd by the 2024 draft or retain it and then it would be the 2025 2nd.
