Confirmed with Link: Ivan Provorov traded to CBJ (via LA) - 1st, 2 2nds, Petersen, Walker, Grans to Philly

Oh dear. @Striiker ca. 2019:

Please note that they were a gift. I didn’t spend a single cent or place the bet. I just sat here holding the losing tickets. As always.

All jokes aside, it was a great gift! Massively appreciated it and was thrilled at the time… but obviously 4 years later everything has gone to shit so it looks hilarious.

Provorov having to play on the 2nd pair watching Werenski. Werenski, Boqvist, Jiricek all likely getting PP roles. I like this timeline.

Man, after reading all the Provorov vs Werenski polls on the main boards back in the day, this is Banderas.gif

Provy's change of scenery is going to be a fat slice of humble pie

There were definitely levels to this trade that Chuck Fletcher either didn't know you could do it or he was too lazy (or nice) to attempt them.

So that's certainly a plus.

He probably would have been too afraid to pull a trigger on a Provorov deal in general.

That’s honestly my biggest takeaway from this. They finally moved the guy. Not that it’s Briere’s fault but he essentially had to salvage a situation here in regards to Provorov & did fine all things considering.

My biggest takeaway is that they’re finally willing to take on cap dumps to improve the return

What are we expecting for the return in the impending Hart trade? Dump + 2023 2nd?

Pretty good piece of business for LA though. They clear $5.6M in cap this year for 2024 second rounder & Grans. Even next year they’ll still save over $2M.

They probably took advantage of the Flyers situation given they likely didn’t want to use contract retention spots on both Hayes & Provorov for these next two years.

Welp, always a rough day when the player you have eight game worn jerseys of gets traded.

Swing and a miss there.
Could you have sold some of them to his, ahem, new fans after Pride Night? Twitter was full of people claiming they were going to buy Provy jerseys back then.
