This is a good point. The pick is basically untradable until Day 2 of (likely) the 2025 draft. An absolutely ridiculous condition. Just tie it to playoff success if you must.

This is a fine and good trade. Not mind-blowing, not a massive victory. But it is fine and good. The first fully clear, fine-and-good trade without stipulations that we have seen since Fletcher was hired. It's sad that I have to keep myself from being thrilled about a pretty routine move, because I'm so used to a nonstop onslaught of horrible ideas that "this is fine and good" feels like we just snagged Draisatl for Hayes. This is a good start for Briere. This is nice right here and now. I wonder where we will be after the draft and UFA?

My wishes were all 3: Provorov, Hayes and Hart and that would solidify a true rebuild.
I honestly thought the trade freeze was still in place, so when this site went to shit earlier I had no idea it was due to anything happening, much less anything to do with us. Quick thoughts:
- Good riddance to Provorov, Connautsie and young Hayden.
- Put Travo on PP1 finally, you jackasses. Up his trade value.
- Peterson hopefully helps the tank and offsets Travo's increased offense from the PP.
- Hopefully we get another first this year for Hart, plus a second this year from that trade or trading the mutt or whatever.
I don't know, I thought we had another week to get in offseason mode lol

The note I got was that he wasn’t able to get in rhythm in Ontario but he also didn’t have a clear path to the NHL since the Kings were overloaded with RHD in their system. Sounds like he needs to get some run in with the Phantoms.

There were definitely levels to this trade that Chuck Fletcher either didn't know you could do it or he was too lazy (or nice) to attempt them.

If we just retained on Provy ourselves, LA would've owed us what? Another 2nd? It makes me wonder if Briere was adamant on reserving that retention slot on something else that would be more valuable. Hoping Hayes at full retention is next.
