Even if Buff wanders back is he going to be in any condition to help us? He has allegedly not trained in 4 to 5 months from what we have heard. Hard to imagine he will be in playing shape let alone great shape anytime in the next few months.
______________________________________________

Even a fat slower Buff is better than what we have now. He still will know how to play positional hockey, and have a great slapper from the point, and clear out the front of the net. I wouldn't expect miracles, but it would help to have him back. Likely take a couple months to get him into good shape.

He needs better players (D)

I would agree with that, but he has better players (Maybe not worlds better players) but he refuses to use them.

This team is essentially handcuffed until Buff decides what he is going to do. We have no cap space to get out of it right now.

Probably right but with what he has proven no team is giving up a second either could see the pick having conditions for how many games played with it

Dallas has time to wait him out...

Let him develop...

Leverage them for themselves or a trade if he performs in Europe...

For a trade...

Maybe these 2 losses will convince all 22 players Defence First.
Don't like the depth....no surprise.
Helly our best bet, Lowry worked his way up the lineup tonight.
Anyone still think line combos are the issue.

Meh unproven players 5 years post draft rarely if ever return very much. They can wait as long as they like but his value isn't likely to improve much.

Few thoughts:

1. Thought we were good tonight.

2. Can't think if a tough save Helly had or a goal he should have stopped.

3. They scored two goals inincredible defensive gaffs....one on Wheeler on the PK, the next on Morrissey 5v5. WTF.

4. I think Ehlers and Roslovic have been our best forwards this year. Followed by Scheifele and Laine. Then Connor and Copp.

5. Not fussed by this one, we'll win the next one.

I see where you are going with this...

You are right... why... ?

Because Chevy has benefited from a very good scouting group...

Also because he trusted/was involved with the scouting group...

Po'Mo' has achieved nothing in the previous 2 years with a very good core...

"Why" is a word for those that failed at their salient position...

And they are saying that word in past tense...

Someone wanted vets to be part of this team structure this season - likely after watching several walk away.
How stupid would you be, as a coach, not to play the players your boss signs (or signed)?
The young guys are the known quantity - it's the vets who were picked up later in the process- why?

Its not all Maurice fault.

The team need a change up.

Hardest thing to do for me , is to fire people you like. But you have to do what you have to do, Chevy....

It really does start from the top, and the league and it's players know now. #CheapChipman handcuffs Chevy. Chevy in turn can't/won't make the hard decisions unless absolutely necessary. It's a boys club Chipman wanted and that's what he has, winning is obviously secondary at this point.

Haven't read this thread and don't really want to.
So excuse if these have already been posted.

I don't like Maurice's benching of Heinola either nor the line juggling etc. but this roster is not good, the defence is terrible as everyone knows. It's gonna be a lot of losses this season for Jets. Propably stating the obvious here. It is just what it is.

Then Dallas is playing poker...

The only problem is...

There is almost always another sucker poker player willing to join the table...

I just responded to another poster along a similar vein and that post would probably be the same response on your points.
But I do appreciate the fact that you are looking for a solution - stay on it :thumbu:

Somewhere nice
I wonder what's the management are thinking now about this team, capability this year.

Do they see it as a regroup year?

If so, then its a good time to try Stanley , Gustafsson, etc more

They expect to contend?
Most likely that's what the main players think.

How do the Jets management make that happen now?

Scheifele, Wheeler and Connor just under 23 minutes. Ehlers at 20, Copp, Laine and Roslovic in the 17 to 18 range. Perrault at 16, Lowry at 13 and everyone else under 10

Thanks 'ixon...

Now not directed at Surixon...

Why burnout Chef and Wheels...?

Why not make lines that are balanced...?

Ask the team to play defense first...

Change the special teams strategies to active...

And make sure every line gets even minutes...

You can't ask the defensive core to change... get better... not possible...
