Maybe Hellebuyck is going there as well.

LAK have no money for that. PLD will take it all.

Technically, Hellebucyk and Schiefele don't need to be traded. Both have contracts for next year, and could probably fetch a lot at TDL. Neither has said they won't report, they're just not interested in re-upping in Winnipeg once they're contracts end next summer. Although, there is a chance that Schiefele does resign apparently.

PLD doesn't have a contract.

I mean they need a goalie.

Now it looks like there's very little going on.

The other people involved have changed their tone.
It's all BS my guys!! Every single last drop... nothing, and I mean nothing is leaking from hugo inner circle. The dude is an ex agent, obvioysly knows what he is doing and it is driving the now blacked out mtl media heads nuts.

The fact that he hinted at wanting to play for Montreal, that he played the "realness" card, and then turn his back on us and sign a deal for Los Angeles, should, in a healthy nation, guarantee that he never finds a welcoming home here ever again in his life.

It's his call, and more importantly, ours.

It's one thing to go for money, it's another thing to play that card to get it.

Unless proof can be shown that management are the ones to really screw up.
Or, perhaps he wants to settle down somewhere and play on a competitive team, in a nice city, while having the temerity to value his own wellbeing over that of a collective entity. If that makes him a mercenary, he's certainly not alone in the modern game.

I've mentioned it many times, since I felt illusory to think that he would sign in Montreal to the exclusion of all else. There were a number of teams that needed a 2C that could have made him happy, as long as they met the Jets' price. Boston and Colorado, at least until the Johansen trade this week, came to mind. The Kings can afford to meet that price too, manifestly, though they may be better off dealing for Hellebuyck as for PLD.

This is obviously a last ditch effort by the jets and Brisson to make Hughes budge.

In the end, they would have played themselves like fools into Norlinder and a 3rd + 5.5M AAV. [Dame Dash emoji]

I like that the poster you're responding to mentions that an athlete should be shunned by people back home for his profesional decisions in a "healthy nation". Lol. Yes, healthy nations most definitely act like that.

I feel like, if Dubois signs in LA, he actually destroys his narrative…

He played badly in Colombus to get traded to mtl

Ge did the same thing in Winnipeg and got critisized this year. But it was ok, he wanted to play for mtl. So he really didn’t give his all.

But if then he signs in LA… then I feel lile he has no more excuses for his lucklustre effort for both of his teams.

He becomes absolutely a player with questionable character.

That’s if he signs in LA

Dubois didn't ask to be traded from Columbus and Winnipeg so he could play in Montreal. MTL is simply a preferred destination if he were to get traded. It's not the reason he wanted to get traded.

Local bag chaser accepts a trade/signs with the first hot weather team desperate enough to give him a contract he doesn't deserve and couldn't give two shits if he plays here or not, shocker. This definitely never happened before. /s

Who's next on the sure shot future Habs list?

I could have dwelled on that, but I didn't see the point: we are diametrically opposite. I'm an individualist, so probably a good fit for life in the US.

Are they even a better team if they dump Durzi, Vilardi, Iafallo and Arvidsson and only acquire PLD + goalie? Seems like a step back.

Don't know better, but it does create permanent roles for Byfield, Kalieyev, Anderson-Dolan & Kupari upfront.

They're also pretty small on D, and only have 4 D signed. Pretty sure the plan there is to probably sign one cheap veteran depth guy then play kids like Clarke, Spence & Bjornfoot. One injury on D and they're screwed though.
