I would be fine with that offer, I'd even through in a guy like Harris in there as I don't think he has a future here.I'm OK with that as long as we trade from a position of strength like the Romanov+ for Dach trade. Adding the physical center in Dubois is a team need IMO. I think MSL gets him to blossom even more with the Habs.
60-80% sure he comes but 20-40% he don't. My max offer today is Dvorak, Beck, Panthers 1st.

LA is in Cup mode, they'll probably sacrifice Byfield lol, we have no chance...I'd have Harris in there before Beck for the same reason you just said. Not sure where he fits in the future. However, not sure what targets the Jets have. I think they take Beck/Panthers 1st and also Dvorak who fills a center spot. The other angle to this is if they are shopping Scheifele and Helle as well. Could target different pieces and what they target for Dubois might depend on what's offered for the other two.
If any other team offers much better than Dvorak, Beck, Panthers 1st, I'm out. Let him go

NO, but very few give you the production to justify them earning the salary they are getting at 26-28 years old till they are in their 30's You enjoying watching the players who were signed by Bergevin who also thinks like you, Armia, Gallagher, Price, Hoffman? None of those should have been getting that much money if the contract ran past age 30. After age 26, a player should have to trade contract length for money not be paid based solely on what they were at age 26 with expectations it will continue into their 30's.Not every player breaks down as soon as he hits 30 years old...

At the same time PLD is better defensively and he’s more physical. Different type of player but they are at the same levelIncluding leadership and intangibles, I think Suzuki is the slightly better player today
Something missed in this discussion tbh is the impact of berg. If there’s one thing I know about berg it’s that he doesn’t overpay. If he’s working with the kings on this don’t expect there offer to be great either
They're more desperate to win right away as Kopitar and Doughty are not getting any younger...Something missed in this discussion tbh is the impact of berg. LA only got Danault because of Bergevin.I know Bergevin isn't the GM in LA, but how ironic would it be if he was able to get Danault and PLD as centers there when he could never accomplish that in Montreal, much less with TWO Quebec born centers! lol. Peak irony.

If Dubois agrees to sign there it's clearly they will outbid us in a trade!
ViladiIf they are not willing to trade Byfield, who are they willing to trade? I bet you they are dangling Turcotte and not sure what else.
Doubt they are trading Clarke. They might dangle the other J Hughes. Who's got more value. Beck or J Hughes?
I wonder about the Kings trade if both Byfield and Turcotte are not available. They don't have their 1st and I bet you the Jets value a 1st in this draft (Panthers late 1st) vs a future one.
What's the logic though? He just had to accept his QO and become UFA at the end of the year...I wonder if the 8 year extension is just posturing by Brisson to prevent him being dealt as a rental, and if it comes down to it, he will settle for a shorter contract for whichever destination he desires to go to.

LA is clearly going for it so I'm sure Byfield is on the table. If they are not willing to trade Byfield, who are they willing to trade? I bet you they are dangling Turcotte and not sure what else.

We just can't beat that in a trade.
They're asking for Dach for sure but I'm not willing to do that.
Don't see why the Jets wouldn't let teams talk to Brisson to get a extension and better trade return?I'm not sold they are including Byfield. Vilardi is the one I see them dangling. If they trade Byfield, They will want permission to get the 8 year deal in place before the trade (not after). If the Jets don't allow teams to talk to Brisson, then what? Not much talk about this part.

Byfield+ a late first and some B prospect for 8 years of Dubois? Are you kidding me? Where do I sign? LA is trying to win now so they will have to go all in...I'm not sold they are including Byfield. Agree on Dach. We are not moving him.
I do see the Kings offering Byfield if they got both Dubois and Helle though.
