well with Raty, it wasn't just all him because their goalie has been stellar too, but Raty being that good is a nice reason for Jukerits success. Imo the issue with Lambert seems to be refinement. He reminds me more of Andreas Anthiniseiu than Mat Barzal, especially with his speed.I doubt he falls out of Round 1 as well. However, I never thought Raty would fall out of round 1.
His stats are weird. He had a decent year last year for a 16 year old in Liiga. He changed teams not too long ago but it hasn’t seemed to help him like it did for Raty. He’s also a year younger if that means anything. I think it just depends on the team and fit for certain guys. Personally, I still would take him in the first round top15.
Good point. They said when they got him in the Vanek trade that he was very, very high on their list. Why do I have the feeling that if Garth decided to use the #4 pick on a player in Europe, it would've been Collberg?
another one for Dufour, 29th of the year.
Agree with the goal scorer's nose for the net. I don't know if what I've posted has been "dumping", and I'll give him credit for his numbers and his shot and his overall goal-scorer's instincts/positioning. I will say I'm not 100% sold on him as a prospect only because when I watch his highlights I don't see a ton of goals that look like the chances you get in the NHL. I had a similar concern with MDC. Obviously I'm rooting for him to become a stud NHL scorer though.Yet so many here keep dumping on him . . .
The kid's got a goal scorer's nose for the net.
I wouldn't call it dumping... I would call it "healthy skepticism."Yet so many here keep dumping on him . . .

or pray the lottery gets us to 3-6 so we can nab someone from Slovakia. Nemec and Slafkovsky are both players the islanders desperately need right now. With no draft thread up yet. I don't think we will be bad enough to get a top 5 pick, but we will probably mediocre enough in the non tank catagory of picking around 10-15 barring a lotto win. This is a year we really need our scouts to hit a home run. Wish I can say I am confident, but this is a very important draft year if Lou keeps the pick. Can't stress this enough.
also Raty 2 points, back to PPG. you have to wonder if he'll challenge for a roster spot next season
I think that given the current state of this roster, and if moves are made in the offseason, he'll be here day one. If not, he'll chill in bridgeport and basically serve as a first call on notice type of guy.I’d like to see him start in the AHL but it’s absolutely possible based on what he looked like in training camp this year + the big season he’s having that he makes the isles.
A good thing is that we will get to see him play for Finland in the WJC that was moved to this summer. They weren’t allowing him to come in December because of Covid Protocols I believe.

I started a draft thread months ago, just needs a new comment to bring it back to the first page.
I think he will. He was quite noticeable at training camp and the exhibition games last year. He’s been a professional for 3 years now, and he’s outperforming guys in that league that are 4 or 5 years older than him. He’s already a good 2 way player too, very responsible defensively.also Raty 2 points, back to PPG. you have to wonder if he'll challenge for a roster spot next season
I believe he'll be very solid. If he becomes good in the AHL, or holds awareness, then he'll be on this roster in no time. This Liiga season he's done a lot of the little things right, things you would argue this team excelled at in 2018-19.I love that Raty is doing well. He is definitely the best story for the Isles this year. I just hope we are not raising the expectations too high for him, where he may not reach them. He was still a 2nd rd pick that is playing above his draft position at this point. This is great. But we need to see him in the AHL to truly gauge how close he is to being in the NHL or how good he can be. Right now he is checking the boxes. Cautiously optimistic the Isles have found a gem here. Cautious being the point here.
Why? Raty will be 20. Dobson started at 19, Wahlstrom started at 20.I feel like a big bucket of cold water lately, but I feel like some of you all have not been paying attention to the last 4 years. Raty is not going to start with the Isles next year under any circumstances.
