Can someone with a true understanding of prospects/developmental leagues give an informed/objective view on which current prospects in the Isles system are truly almost "sure things" to be regular NHLers in the coming years?

Obviously nothing is 100%, but not looking for hopeful comments on guys like Otto Koivula. Unless a prospect was playing overseas or in the NCAA usually if they haven't played a full NHL season by 21 the chances of them become a regular NHLer are slim.

I'm looking for a list of the prospects who if they continue on their current path will play 5+ years in the NHL in some capacity (and will probably be ready to play in the NHL in the next 2 years).
There's only one Sure Thing.

Just watched the tail end of Västervik vs. HV71, a team that is not only the hands down favorite for the Allsvenskan championship, but has won 13 of 14 games.

They won again today, but first in overtime. Västervik did a lot of good things.

Wilde actually looked really good. Strong movement, great puck control, very heady, got lots of ice time.

Unfortunately, he was on the ice for the game-winning goal, which his stick actually deflected. Unfortunate it was though, as the forward in front of him completely missed his assignment, allowing the league's top goal scorer to enter the zone at full speed skating straight at Bode, who was positioned where he should have been, when assuming the forward doesn't just give the opponent the center ice lane.

But I did get the impression that Wilde doesn't do all he could do. I mean, who knows what the coach asks of the guys, but there were plenty of times it looked like he could really rush with the puck, but made a very safe, yet unthreatening first pass.

For our prospect mongers. Does Dufour have a legit chance to be a top-6 goalscorer in the NHL. It's been a while since NYI produced a late-round goalscorer (Lee may have been the last).

Actually, Dufour was pretty highly touted several years ago when he was a high draft pick for the QMJHL.

He didn't flounder either, just wasn't an impact player in the first two years of his QMJHL play, having really gotten jump-started by a trade.

That we got him in the 5th round was nice, really nice, but that was a truly strange draft in many ways.

Just imagine if the two guys we had taken before him had been, for example, Martin Chromiak and Sean Farell?

This all said, Dufour has a legitimate chance of being an NHLer who develops into a 20-goal guy. The size, hands, and nose for the net are there.

I’m hoping 2022 means this season. That would be awesome. Dufour to get to play in a memorial cup and get that experience and showcase his talent.

I can see him making the roster next year. That's a men's league he is playing in. You can't teach that type of release, that would have gone in, in any league.

I’m still shocked by the high praise and comments Trotz gave him in camp. Usually you don’t see Trotz go out of his way and praise an 18 year old as highly as he did. Very excited

I don't want to be hyperbolic here, but given his all around game. I am hoping he becomes the Isles best younger player, that includes Wally in the conversation. One thing about Finnish developed players I always like, is they are taught the game technically both ways how to play their position from a very young age. Jari Kurri was a player I admired, always was a good 2 way player who could score prolifically. He actually scored 102 pts the year after 99 left for LA. I think this 2 way element is often overlooked.
