If the Rangers continue to drop and pick in the top 13, then that first rounder used to get Miller becomes an unprotected first in 2026. Sounds like that draft has an exceptional player at the top too. Being an older team and on a downward trend this could turn out to be really bad.

Imo Miller’s issues in the room go beyond just with Pettersson. There was his stick smashing (on the net a year back to get his goalie to move) so it’s highly likely there’s been more going on with him. Great player, but definitely has troubles controlling his emotions. That’s both good, when times are going well, but bad when there are struggles.

This pushes Zibanejad down to #3C spot where he should be. I don't think the Rangers will be able to get rid of him without retention.

I think NYR fans would all love that instead of getting the 13th pick and handing over a potential lottery pick the following year. We're obviously annoyed with the core, but if you remove them, there's a high percentage the team can be worse. We have no idea what Drury is going to do this offseason. I think the 2026 pick may be more important here.

That does not change the potential of a fracture. It just means Miller has immediate support in the locker room. I, personally, think Miller is going to be a monster in New York . Love him as a player and going to miss him on the Canucks. But it became obvious that he comes with a big strong personality and is not afraid to use it. He defines big risk big reward.

There's always a chance of a potential fracture. I think it's less about Miller having a backup buddy in Trocheck and more about Trocheck being a well respected leader in the locker room. They all love Trocheck and I can see Trocheck being more than just a number for Miller's side of the arguments.

Yeah of course geezus we are losing in all of this until Alvin makes some more moves that turn out well...........losing Miller is a big blow - he's been amazing and when he's playing you feel a ton more confident about matching up with anyone in the playoffs.......BUT this just wasn't in the cards any more. WE HAD to trade someone.........sounds like it could have been either Miller or Pettersson. Management made a BUSINESS DECISION HERE.......They took the best deal they felt for the hockey team.

Considering the fact that all along it seemed like NYR or nothing they did pretty effing good i think. Parlaying Miller into Mancini, Chytil and Pettersson#3. is not as catastrophic as you make it seem to be. IF Chytil stays healthy and is a solid 2nd liner for us the trade is solid mostly regardless of what Miller does.

Allvin in his presser on Saturday said he had talks with Miller two months ago about the player moving on as that was what was best for his family and personal health. So it sure sounds like it’s semantics that he didn’t ask to be traded. He asked. His teammates knew. Created a messy room.
