I can see him making the roster next year. That's a men's league he is playing in. You can't teach that type of release, that would have gone in, in any league.
Where exactly if you don't mind me asking?

I drafted him first round in my keeperHow weird would it be if Raty wasn't the goods at this point? This guys +1 draft year has been insane.
I would like to see him on the left wing with Nelson or Pageau next season. Maybe even Center down the road. Not saying he is going to be a second rd steal like Aho was, but he may be a more rounded young player than Wally will be, where his main contribution is goal scoring. I see Raty as more versatile a player, a few more tools in the toolbox.Where exactly if you don't mind me asking?
That’s the difference between a 4th liner and first liner, the patience and vision to know you have that extra secondThat seems like an easy goal, but a lot of guys would have shot it right away into the goalie's pads. I LOVE the way he waited and moved left to tuck it into the opening.

Speaking of a prospect we rarely talk about, has anyone had a chance to see Christian Krygier much?
Good size for a stay-at-home LHD who has NHL lineage so you'd think his hockey IQ is good. Academic All-American. Sounds like Hutton on the left side.
What's up with Jacob Pivonka? Everyone was touting him as a Cizikas-like player. Is he injured?
Dufour and Raty have certainly given the prospects core a good boost this season. Holmstrom looks to be developing also. Just need Bolduc to pick up where he left off last season. We have seen Salo already, looks like he will be sticking around next year with the Isles.
…….
I want to be very clear that my first choice is to see the Isles make the playoffs and make another deep run……
No way I want to see them potentially move a lottery pick…
I was at the Baby Islanders game last night and Holmstrom looked good. I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a cup of coffee at some point this season and was a legitimate call up option next year.
Couldn’t agree more.
Lou won’t sell NHL regulars for futures. I’d be ok with a hockey trade with established players but if they’re clearly not competitive at the TDL, let’s hope he doesn’t trade next year’s #1 pick for a band aid fix.
This is exactly where Holmstrom will land in my opinion watching the baby isles games this year. He is just solid up and down the wing player, good skills and will be player that plays on both special teams units and in a good year gets 40-50 points.Maybe I am overzealous, or just plain crazy, but he seems like the ideal third-line player to me, alongside JGP and a natural goal scorer, like Wahlstrom (or perhaps Palms, if he gets pushed down by Wahlstrom AND can finally start scoring goals again). Holmstrom's natural passing ability and skating seems perfect for a third line that will challenge weaker/shallow teams.

I think Holmstrom is a RW at the pro level for various reasons and I'm ticketing him to be the successor for Bailey.
