The loss sucks but 3 out of 4 against the Piles is acceptable.
The big picture is what he did tonight is EXACTLY why he’s not the coach going forward. He is all talk. He’s a fraud. He gave Kreider a 10 min timeout in the corner and then punished the kids that carried them all night and went back to his vets that were awful. Terrible coach, a stubborn coach with no feel for his players. He cost them tonight.

Went to the kids all game and they rewarded him. He finally adjusted and went with his best players. He goes back to the vets that were trash all game and loses. That pretty much is the epitome of David Quinn, a loser. No ****** chance Gorton and Davidson see this guy as the answer.
They shouldn't have hired him in the first place.

5+? How about 3?

Igor has a 2.44 GAA and a losing record.

And as far as holding the fort, you mean like Hank did in game 3 against Tampa? Or any game against LA? Or in game 5 against the Devils after we tied it? Goaltenders give up goals.

Had Hank have had this kind of talent and goal support in front of him, the city would have had to rename canyon of heroes to Hank Avenue.

Kreider was on the 4th line cuz he's been coasting but somehow got time on ice in OT
Quinn hoping to get him going because we need him. He hustled a bit harder in the 3rd, made a few nice plays but he's a liability in OT, he's shown it over and over again. Not his skillset, blame the coach.

Yes, I did.

You just said you switched it off, so you can't have an opinion about something you didn't see.
Because I trust the stats more. You know that's the answer and you've known it for like seven years.

The eye test is good for nuance on certain things I'm not going to sit there and engage with you thinking it was a good game when we got bent over in the metrics. I don't care what you think you saw.

This is a yikes dude...

If you'd rather watch wrestling and you think analytics always provide the total picture, why do ever even put the game on? Is there no pleasure in it for you?

He doesn’t play heavy special teams minutes yet.

Laf played more 5v5 minutes than Zibanejad.
And he deserved to!!! Not even close.
I hope he will get some pp time but if this coach is here next year is that really gonna be the case? It will still be Strome-Zibby-Kreider on the first pp unit. Also figure Blackwell is on line ahead of him as well. Buch too. Not much will change

It's odd that if the metrics were bad in a Cup-winning game, you'd pooh-pooh it.

The kids are all starting to find their groove, I honestly don’t know what people are upset about.

They’ve been producing too. Kravtsov/Kakko/Chytil all had in points in all of our goals. What happened to only caring about development?
We lost to the Islanders. Full stop.

People on this board not only hate the Islanders (understandable) but see the Islanders as this standard of team building that we should live up to because look at all the Cups they've won recently.

At least Pulock saved us from having to witness Rooney-Trouba-Buchnevich
I know you're probably partly kidding but that's probably what would have happened. Maybe Blackwell rather than Rooney. Kakko/Laf/VK are down the list for his options in ot
