I'll get crap for this but I'll say it anyways: Chris Krieder doesn't fit on this team. He is a relic when the Rangers were drafting to emulate the Bruins.

But, now the Rangers are turning into a puck posession, skill based team: he doesn't mesh at all outside of his speed.

Either the Rangers build a line around him with strong forechecking bruisers or you trade him away. I mean his best shift tonight was when he was playing a simple grinding style.

I wouldn't mind a Kreider Chytil Gauthier line to your point.

Either way get Gauthier in for Howden.

The winning goal is on Strome, it was his man at the point and he was asleep at the switch!

However, the main culprit is Quinn. I'm sorry, but you do not put a rookie C and terrible defensive C (Strome), both who can't win faceoffs with a rookie Dman, with a defensive zone faceoff in OT. Why not have Trouba in that spot? In the offensive zone, I can understand the logic, but not in a D zone face off situation...terrible!

Wouldn't surprise me if Strome, Kreider, and Miller haven't actually introduced themselves to each other yet but they're on the ice together in OT. When was the last time Strome played with Kreider?

8 of the next 9 games are against the devils sabres and flyers.

and we’re healthy

5 of the next 9 for the Bruins are against the isles pens and caps.

Their D and goaltending are hurting

you just want them to be interesting down the stretch here. These next 9 sure should be

I'm terrified of the theory that Gorton has an affection towards him because he was his hand picked out of the box pick.
You need to give Gorton more credit haha

He’s not risking his job long term over a mediocre coach like Quinn.

Gorton isn’t exactly a sentimental guy, Quinn will get the axe at the appropriate time almost guaranteed

The big picture is what he did tonight is EXACTLY why he’s not the coach going forward. He is all talk. He’s a fraud. He gave Kreider a 10 min timeout in the corner and then punished the kids that carried them all night and went back to his vets that were awful. Terrible coach, a stubborn coach with no feel for his players. He cost them tonight.

Totally agree.

If Kreider were a singer he’d be have the most amazing range on the planet.

His ability to go from game breaker to broken game is nothing short of extraordinary.

Kreider always reminds me of Eric Daze for some reason. Not necessarily style, but their production and their ability to dominant and also disappear. But at the end of the season they have decent goal totals.

Anyways, cant complain too much after gathering 3 out of 4 points away on the Island as well as gaining on the Bruins and the Flyers.

I think there's an argument to be made that until these last few games where the kids started producing and playing great that he should have been fired this season, not winning, not developing anyone.

Kreider had to be benched to actually start skating and make hits, just basic plays you expect a pro to bring every game.

I know this might sound crazy, but I think Chytil should be in a package then Kravtsov if we do decide to do something with Eichel. It’s crazy but he’s looked more like a center than Chytil has in his entire time here.

Sad that on a night like tonight even Mollie Walker can’t ask a simple “how do Chytil, Lafreniere and Kravtsov continue to get stapled to the bench with the man advantage and in OT, especially with how they’ve been playing?” Not one writer has the guts to ask. Post games are a waste.
It would just get them in trouble and you're not getting a real answer anyway.

mikas had a whole season off outside of 2 games against Philly if were being honest.
Mika and CK the best buddies ever. They been really providing leadership when we need it :sarcasm:Really don't have a clue what we are gonna do or what we should do with Mika.

Yeah I mean he probably deserves to go but again the guy Gorton wants to hire next might not be available yet

Quinn isn’t a particularly good coach but he’s also not all time bad. He’s just kinda there. I’m not worried about him stalling the development of prospects

Reporters are cowards. They might write a snide article but when they have to look the coach in the eyes they'll never ask an aggressive question.
