I have a feeling this was all a huge misunderstanding, both sides had good intentions, but someone didn't explain well to Briand why the package couldn't be written on the contract. Then Saputo not answering his texts, NDS talking like a mobster trying to lure in his next kill "Yeah come here, we'll talk about it man..."

No surprise Briand was like "wait a minute, this is fishy as f***."

And it stems from the owner himself: look at how daddy's boy handled communications in his last outting with the media, a f***ing disaster.

I would agree but one of Raitala or Cabrera has to go to free an international spot and a spot on D. Raitala seems like Remi Garde's utility/cover man so...

He's been fine, but the main reason behind shopping him is that he takes an international spot and that he's quite expensive. Also, since he's a known commodity in MLS, he's easier to trade. As Nilton and Sofiane have pointed in one of their CCPP, Cabrera first signed a contract with the MLS and then Montréal asked to get him, so he's well known by most teams.
