9 days left in the mercato and the only "real" news is that we're possibly bringing in a youth RB and Adi for 6 months. Yikes. Not looking good if the goal is to challenge the top 4 in the East

I still don't get how the Briand transfert failed like that. You've got a team that wants to see him leave, a player who wants to come here AND a team that desperately needs said player. This is about as un****able a scenario as you could find, yet here we are now. From what I can gather from todays article with the guy he seems genuinely sad too. Why couldn't all parties find a way to make everybody happy ? This seems so simple to me.

Lads,

It's

The

Impact.

I hope we don't end up with Adi. They didn't want to have Briand as DP but it's alright with Adi!? ffs, it's even worse considering we will still have to look up for another striker in January

Destouches speculated that the reason why the Impact might not have wanted to tag Briand as a DP was that they were already in talks with Portland to get Adi, which has DP money and cannot be lowered with TAM.

If Adi was supposed to be this mysterious signing they were going to announce after the Briand fiasco I just don't know what to say

Personally, I don't mind the fact that Adi's association with us would only be for 6 months. Yes it's not easy to find players during the Winter mercato, but Adi's not worth a DP contract anymore IMO. Seattle managed to find a better TAM CF, that's why they traded Adi away.

So mad right now. But that's about the time something crazy happens to prove me wrong. Watch them get both Valencia and HBA

We usually know EVERYTHING about the team's possibles transfers too. Right now, it's incredibly quiet, which is worrisome. The thing that makes me mad is that they had so much time to prepare. They knew they had to go get help during this mercato, they even promised they would and that things would change.

9 days left, not only one signing and pretty much no rumor? That sucks.

I think Destouches is buying whatever crap impact management is trying to sell him. This doesn’t make any sense.

If the Impact ends up having to pay Guingamp 300k and not using the intl slot they’ve paid 100k for.... we would have witnessed the biggest management failure in MLS history. This story continues to blow my mind.
That spot can be Diallo's if he comes back though. But it certainly is a huge f*** up even if they don't have to pay Guingamp. From a management perspective to a PR perspective, all Ls across the board.

I'm fine with Adi until the end of the year. Briand was the long term solution. That fell through. So I'm okay with them bringing in someone short term so they can address it long term in the off-season.

Adi is at $1.9M salary until 2020, IIRC. Using him for a few months helps them continue their run this year. And him going back to FCC afterwards, IMFC get that big salary off their books and can use it on a longer term solution.

He's also younger than Briand and most importantly, has MLS experience.

I can't remember where I heard that (Destouches maybe?) but IMFC haven't paid the fee.

Guingamp will get their money, the only resort for the IMFC is to go to court and put the burden on Briand to pay the fee. Its ironic that its the amount of money (roughly) that briand was asking for in terms of giving him the package. if IMFC pays it, they are incompetent. If they don't (and pay lawyers to get Briand to pay), they are still incompetent and they will ensure no one will ever break a contract to join them ever again. There are no other way if the paperwork is in order from guingamp's side.

saw Josef Martinez with 2 others ATL players (one being Hector Villalba, the other one I didn't recognize) couple of days ago in down town, he looked very surprised to see someone from Montreal actually knowing about him (That's because IMFC sucks badly I assume), he thought I was Venezuelan,. His English is okay, alot better than I expected, but of course was more natural in Spanish. He looks like the biggest cockiest douche on TV but he is a very cool dude, definitely approachable with a good sense of humor. Also short af, but like shorter than I expected. It's mindblowing.

Anyway, He said he really likes MLS and I asked him why did he think it didn't go that well in Europe without remembering where he actually played, he said that in Italy he didn't play in his prefered position which is C, wasn't given as much freedom as in atlanta, when I looked up after I saw he was competing .... against Belotti. who scored 30 goals 2 seasons ago. I missed the game on Saturday but saw the highlights and my god could those two goals been avoided

We could easily find a Josef Martinez in Europe, but they are too passive. Braz and Garde. If Flopcosu is still the number one forward, IMFC won't make the playoffs. At this point I would start a U19 player over Chokecosu really.

po capable de la mettre dedans pour une cenne noir.

seriously #imfc is so frustrating to follow. so many weird situations occur. its like partnof the culture..

we could make a list.. just didier, ciman, piatti, briand situations to name a few.

we need a splash but will do a flop its seems...

I don't think so. Usually, the transfer gets done and is officialized only when the player signs the contract with his new team. It all gets done at once. It was weird in that case that Guingamp put an end to Briand's contract before he signed with his new team but that's on them IMO.

If all of Jimmy Briand, Fenando Adi and Luciano Acosta additions were to of happened, this team would of had a legit chance to get far in the playoffs. The lack of news with multiple sources is really strating to freak me out though.

We can't end this mercato with nothing.
