I just learned that if you make over 1.5M, you can't be bought down with TAM. I don't understand anything anymore.

Yea I learned that yesterday reading up on Adi. I don't know how much TAM IMFC have left, but they can bring Taider down to TAM. According to MLS Salaries, he makes 800K.

We know they have 400K from the Edwards trade.

I'm just worried because we're scrambling for a CF just a week before the deadline and a mid is just as important.

Personally, I'm good if they get one during this transfer window and get the other in the off-season. If they can get both this transfer window, all the better. I don't think they need to rush everything this time. They are building something good here and they can build this team slowly.

My thoughts exactly. I still hope and think they have players for both holes lined up for this window.

Nice to see. Though I have to say him and his counterpart were really pro-atlanta in their commentary. I guess that's an American thing for local networks.

I think it's the way the networks like to have it. I remember watching highlights of the LAFC game at SS with the LAFC commentators, homerism at its finest.

In other news, Ballou played in Barca's preseason team for 20 mins or so. Had 2 nice plays. I think he's ready for a step up from their youth setup.
He should be getting more minutes. I read a few impressions about him by Barca fans and he's perceived as a raw talent, not too tactical, but a very interesting talent as a destabilizing winger à la Dembelé.

So he likes the city too. Great. f***ing Joey steps in and won't agree to the verbal agreement De Santis gave the player early in negotiations... Hmmm where have I seen that before? ....

What a shitty situation Briand ended up being.

And now Guingamp are still expecting Joey to pay them 300k. What a huge f***ing mess. All this over a 200k over 2 years and a half.

There is no indication whatsoever that the Impact are signing a new striker. It would be unreal if we end the season with Mancosu rather than finding a solution for this mess.

When you factor in the 300k € paid by Saputo for the transfer as well as the 240k asked for the "package", that makes it 500k for Jimmy Briand transfer. Fair price but I can see why Saputo eventually wasn't convinced if he doesn't feel that he is worth that price.

I still would've gotten it done considering the pressing need for a legitimate striker, but I understand the club's stance of not being enthusiastic about the deal and all that culminating into Jimmy Briand having doubts about if the club could keep their word, it was the perfect opportunity for an exit.

I saw this too today, but I actually went and searched for the source at The Athletic, and nothing. I also saw them bring back a Cavallini to Monterrey rumour from a few months ago, yesterday, with old information about his contract situation... I'm doubting these are legit rumours.

People are starting to repost this, so heads up, if there's no other source which comes out, i'd say to take it with a grain of salt.

Didn't the team say they would announce a new signing a few days after the Briand fiasco?

Every day with Mancosu as our striker is a reminder of what could have been for this season (assuming nobody comes by August 8th)...
