I said Verhaeghe previously but BobROBvsky gets it for sure. McDavid winning it without the Oilers winning the cup is a sad joke, it's not happening. He's been sucking sweaty jockstrap juice these finals.

Behold when you go deep it gets harder to score. Now imagine zetterberg, lidstrom m rafalski draped all over him. N give him kunitz n 38 year old guerin. Good luck

Imagine having Chris Osgoode in nets against you

/s

But seriously, what was wrong with Chris Kunitz at the time? He was as legit a top 6 player as anyone in the league at the time.

Mcdavid has 5 goals and 1GWG lol. Like it or not but goals are at premium in the PO's. If he had something like 16+24 then we could be talking but it's not even close now.
One of his goals was scored by Seguin too lol

Ooooof.

I was right all along. Draisaitl has proven nothing beyond the second round.

Can't call a player one of the best performers when they're just padding stats in the worst division in the league for the first two rounds.

There is no such thing as padding stats in the playoffs, there's way too much parity in the NHL, what a comically awful take.

Guy's fifth all time in points per game in the playoffs with a reasonable sample (70 games) and people will find the most absurd ways to tear him down.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know an easy way to check McDavid's stats without powerplay and line change advantage? I believe he's 0+0 thus far in the finals without these two and I'm just wondering if it's a longer trend.

The doghouse
There’s no way around the fact that this has been an extremely disappointing series for him. Superstars show up on the biggest stage. Especially the best evers.

nobody would ever guess reading this thread that McDavid has only 1 less point than Barkov this series

Conn Smythe only belongs to 2 Player.
Its even Bob or Barkov.
Bob for all his saves he made, to win the Game. People still talking about the robbery diving save.
Barkov for his near perfect 2 Way Game and stop a lot of Players from Scoring or create scoring chances.

The point?

that perhaps people are overreacting to the guy that just put up 5 more points in 3 rounds than anyone else did in 4 rounds last year having 3 points in 3 games?

nah that's silly he should be sent to the ECHL with Bouchard

And Skinner couldn't make a key save. Wonder if Edmonton will bring him back as starter or look to upgrade in goal. Imo he hasn't shown enough to be reliable. But he may be their only option.

Had Edmonton won that game, this series is completely different.

As is, tonight is just to determine if this series ends in a sweep or in game 5. When Edmonton loses the cup, it's better to lose on the road.
Tip of the hat to Florida. They did what I thought they couldn't and won game 3.

McDavid has played decently in the SCF. But the Conn Smythe is not awarded to the player who tries the hardest. If Florida wins and a forward is selected over Bob then it’s Barkov. He’s consistently shut down the best players head to head including McDavid and the vaunted Edmonton power play. His offensive production is secondary over his elite defense these playoffs.

Its pretty simple, switch goalies and its extremely doubtful Florida leads the series.

This is the level of commenting you’ll get when you crown someone prior to having done something

All we heard was how dominant McDavid is going to be against Florida and even an idea of Barkov being able to slow him down a bit was met with laughter

Good humbling moment for many

And now it's "Well, if you switched goalies, it would be different".

Man, this place...
