It’s only worthy of an eye role because it sounds ridiculous to say on a message board. Oh the Rangers should hire me. If the Rangers went into camp with a coach who looked like that and was a decorated veteran, but it wasn’t some guy from the message board, the reaction on the message board would be “oh hell yeah”.

You can do whatever you want. I didn’t give you any kind of warning or punishment. I basically said “oh god, here we go again”. If you’re tired of that reaction you should probably balance out your fixation. I don’t know what kind of victim complex you have but, I’ve been called a moron, hater, idiot, and told I’m obsessed with one of our posters just these past 24 hours for criticizing the kids. You have no clue who else does or doesn’t get infractions. You just like feeling persecuted. In general, the mass of posters here tends to disagree with your goalie rants more often than not, and tends to agree with Strome rants more often than not. At this point you’re the boy who cried wolf when it comes to goalies. Even if you have something credible to say, people have assigned you zero credibility because you have cried out about the goalies so many times in the past. That’s not on us. A great cure for a persecution complex is taking responsibility for your own actions.

I don't have a persecution complex but I'm making the point that other people also complain about one thing and are not considered one note, that's all.

This sounds like a persecution complex: other people are treated better than me. Look brother, we’ve had plenty of good talks and you know I have tried to be helpful and constructive 99% of the time. This isn’t the thread for it either, but self examination does go a long way. You’ve turned yourself into a meme with the goalie posting and now people react to you as such. You can change that, or you can keep doubling down on the goalie content and then say it isn’t fair that people react to it the way they do. You can control yourself. You can’t control peoples reaction to you. But you can change what you do to get that reaction.

I also don’t think that other posters are as one note as you think they may be. I have been tearing Panarin a new one for two weeks. But 1.) that’s a different story than multiple years of the same posting and 2.) it’s clearly not even 10% of what I ultimately post about. If you’ve been reading the boards this week, it can feel like it’s 90% of what I post about, but history and context proves that to not be the case. History and context have given most posters here the impression that you have a strange fixation with complaining about goaltending no matter how near or far it is from the reason we lose.

im going to let loki and snow continue their battle royale above me

back to more pressing things.....where has kreider gone this series, we have people complaining about kakko (who played 8 minutes last night) and are just letting our so called "captain" slide. the dude has 1 point in 5 games this series

panarin has been terrible but kreider has been in my opinion a much bigger disappointment this series, and thats saying alot since i think panarin has been crap (at least im like 90% sure panarin is hurt so i will give him a partial pass)

just going to leave this here to distract you from the disaster we saw tonight
Lindgren, shesty and Goodrow are beautiful woman.

Skimming through this thread, the amount of fighting vs the euphoria and confidence in the last game thread is something. Guys, no reason to fight bc the Rangers got smothered last night. This is the reason I go into every game with thinking loss. The disappointment leads to annoyance with everyone. But remember house money everyone. Anyways on to the next game. Try to even it up, Rangers.

I also don't think I'm as one note as you say I am. Maybe in my criticism. But there are posters that only post negative shit about the team. Read my posts in this thread I said I was proud of them and it's been a good season. I also defend Igor when he needs to be defended. Last game I posted that he had an over 0.920 save percentage and I posted after 3 games that we've only allowed 5 goals (that's both a team and Igor stat). I get on him when he gives up a bad goal. The breakaway goal wasn't bad but he needs to stop those at a higher rate.

I'm gonna give Panarin a pass for this playoffs. We know he's hurt, we just don't know how bad.

We also know he sucks with Strome. Why the Rangers keep beating themselves over the head with this, I just don't understand. Copp seems to make it better but he looks banged up too.

We're in it for the long haul with Panarin and I would kick the tires on Copp depending on what he wants and how the Rangers will use him (I have no interest in another winger). Strome is the one I'm done with.

He's done nothing in the playoffs - 7 points, 1 goal, and every bad habit is magnified. I think Ryan Strome is a good hockey player. In the right role, he'll be an asset. This team ain't it. He's a secondary player and he's bad at everything our top players aren't strong at. He isn't a compliment to this lineup and he's not quite good enough to be a square peg and you just accept it.

He also drastically hurts our best player when they're together and again, I just can't get my head around why the Rangers see the opposite.

You know whats weird? Im pretty sure Graves in 94 sorta disappeared in the playoffs. After a 54 goal season. I think having a season where an anomaly happens doesnt carry over into the playoffs. But I hope Krieder proves me wrong from here on out.

If we are gonna win game 6 to lose game 7 just lose on Saturday.

This team has way too much fight to get knocked out on home ice. Outside of bad officiating in Carolina's favor they're not losing game 6.

I saw this L coming from a mile away. Putting your opponents head in the guillotine is simply not the Ranger way. We prefer to be inches from death and escape by the skin of our teeth.

Game 7 will be a toss up. Matchups won't matter. Igor will decide whether or not he wants to advance. While he was good in game 5, the goals that beat him were very stoppable by his standards

Again, it’s probably not the thread for it, but while you probably aren’t as one note as you have been labeled, you have created a perception. In the past you have either been unwilling to lay off the goalie schtick or been unable to resist the compulsion. Over the course of a large sample size, people have developed fatigue towards it.

For example, when the breakaway goal happens - sure, it would be nice to get some breakaway stops - but the almost universal response is to be upset at the players responsible for the breakaway happening. As a rule, a breakaway goal against is really almost never on the goalie and while it’s nice to get those huge saves sometimes, we got plenty of other huge saves. Not to mention, you’ve given a breakaway to one of the most elite talents in the league with a chance to put the game away. Igor can play it well and still get beat - it’s not Garnett Hathaway coming down, it’s Svechnikov. The normal reaction is to be repulsed by the puck management that leads to another rush against. The snowblind reaction is to jump to Igor not being able to stop breakaways anymore.

Like I said, sure it would be nice to get those stops. It’s not really the logical first place for your frustration to be delivered. It fits the perception that you have created. I’m not saying you can’t post about the goalies, but you do so knowing that you will only reenforce whatever fair/unfair perception people have developed of you. You could simply… hold your tongue. Maybe 50% of the time? Or first address the egregious play that leads to the breakaway in the first place? Or you can choose not to deviate from what has become considered par for the course and the reactions will likewise remain the same. Is it fair? Justified? I don’t know. This isn’t a trial. It’s human nature and the reason the fable of the boy who cried wolf exists. You have cried out about goaltending so frequently that even if you are 100% accurate, you have reached a point where no one wants to listen to you about them.

Kreider doesn't create a lot on his own and needs opportunities and situations created for him. His production comes from literally standing around the net, and he potted a good share off his rush opportunities. Since we don't put shots on net well, now in the playoffs when we get edged out to the perimeter, his effectiveness is nullified. He has never been a huge board battler who can win and skate away with puck possession, which is what's needed in the postseason. He requires a playmaker.

Please no... haha :)

McKegg played for Carolina. Actually his playoffs with Carolina is probably what kept him employed in the NHL as he got this reputation as a great depth piece somehow. 14 games in the playoffs for Carolina. Signed with NY (for the first time) that summer.

It would give Emily Kaplan the perfect opportunity to ask him HOW DOES IT FEEL??? And that may be what we need to get ahead.

Jokes aside - McKegg's game does translate to playoff hockey. Just relentless on forecheck.

I feel so bad for Emily...those questions she asks lol
